  1. so much wants. / will never haves.
  2. Like mitch said the KRK's are slightly coloured in the low end. They are a good monitor though if you want to use them for more than just producing. I use mine with my decks but they are good for referencing any productions I have. For my productions I use Focal CM40's. Nice flat response from them although this particular model is a compact version as I was using them in a small space. Would definitely recommend Focal's if purely for production use.
  3. diggin' that. pulls you right in...
  4. resurrecting this thread after listening to this album for the first time in years...
  5. That's what they are saying too. TO reflect the changing audio market. ie. More people buying vinyl albums just to listen to rather than DJ's buying singles. however... Still need tonearms etc. Also.. I doubt they will ignore the demand from the DJ market.
  6. the 'prototype' they unleashed doesn't even have anything on it. nothing like what the finished article will be anyway.
  7. I agree with mitch. I've only tried to use CDJ once before and just couldn't take to them. If I was playing out when I tried them it would have been a disaster.
  8. Very helpful guides. Great to use as a starting point.
  9. agreed. My first set of concordes lasted 10 years.
  10. I can't say I know what your on about. I use it inside ableton and it works fine.
  11. Not used this but it looks good and their other stuff it top... http://tal-software.com/products/tal-sampler or.. http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pr ... kontakt-5/ which I do have it is awesome.
  12. You'd be best to invest in a multi track mixer. Input everything into individual tracks and just jam away. You can then go back and edit it as you please. That would be better than playing one part at a time and worrying about timing.
  13. hands down the best live thing I've seen.
  14. This list would be impossible to put together... here are a few omissions from my point of view. Daft Punk Essential Mix, 2007. James Holden Resident Advisor Podcast - 2013 Steffi Dummy mix 2011 Steffi mixmag podcast 2009 Jose Padilla essential mix 1995 UNKLE essential mix 2002 Tania Vulcano & Loco DIce essential mix 2005 Mark Farina & Josh WInk essential mix 2006 Four Tet essential mix 2010 ItaloJohnson Boiler Room 2013 Optimo & Move D Boiler Room 2013 Danny Tenaglia essential mix 1994 I's sure there's plenty I've forgotten too...
  15. you'll struggle find a better example than this....
  16. My technics are fucked at the minute. Gonna stick them in for a service but if I get told they're finished I'm gonna get a pair of the plx-1000's. Sound tables.
  17. I know. Totally awesome bit of kit. If I ever have a spare £1k I'll def pick one up. Good thing is I could save on the postage as it's made in Glasgow
  18. I know you've realised the beatstep can do what your lookig for but for future reference or anyone else interested there is another option.. http://www.sequentix.com/cirklon.htm
  19. Phaser and saturator too. They are both in intro
  20. Point Blank so some good courses. Well worth it. I did an ableton house course with them when I first got into Ableton and it helped a fair bit. If your making ambient style stuff you should play about with the ping pong delay and reverbs. The Corpus and Resonator effects units are good too but not included in the intro version
  21. 410
  22. Don't really have to touch the laptop much when I'm working on tunes. Mostly using the keyboard so having to reach a bit to laptop isn't too bad. Although I do admit it's not ideal. I have an apple genuine bluetooth mouse i have absolutely no use for, happy to send it to wherever you are? wow. Thanks for the offer mate but I wouldn't expect you to send it to Scotland.
