Ok... Vinyl skips. It's still not got the problems listed above using usb's, cable links etc... And to be honest a vinyl will only skip if you don't look after them and it's scratched. And a little skip of a needle doesn't stop the music. Laptops/usb's crashing = silence. fact. CD's are good too as long as they're looked after and covered with shit or scratched to fuck. Again, if this were so you wouldn't play them out anyway.....

Love partying and don't like other peoples tunes.... I just love music. Love collecting records and have been fortunate enough to do a bit of DJ'ing because of that. As for objectives.. Didn't have any before but now I probably do as I'd like to get some sort of gigs happening in Oz now that I'm hear. However, i'm probably more concerned about my own productions these days and getting them out than I am about DJ'ing. Live set is where it's (gonna be) at.

You could also chalk that down to poor warm up skills of the previous DJ. Many times i've seen guys 'warming up' by playing some shit that's way too banging for the time of night and not suited to the guest DJ's style. That shit bugs me more than anything... whales need to learn how to warm up properly.

The crowd is all subjective though when it comes to things like weddings/club/whatever. Take that mad for it wedding crowd and stick them in a club with Ame or Dixon and they'd probably be bored out their tits. Whereas, stick me in a wedding crowd and I'd be bored off my tits. Regardless of DJ skills.

Richie Hawtin doesn't just sync tracks though. He's pretty much remixing on the fly and creating something new from a number of slices from various tracks. He even says that if you sync just to mix records you aint shit really.

i like the idea tbh. i had considered doing this back home before I knew I was leaving. Although I was gonna do it with cassette's. I'm still aiming to to do this at some point but not with a mix. Gonna do it with some of my own tracks once i feel I have enough that are suitable (could be a while). Just slip them into places where whales place flyers for nights
