yer needles could be farked i its loud crackling. if its just soft crackle and pop, welcome to the analogue world man. thats what people call the warm sound of vinyl. buy a cleaning kit (stylus brush with liquid, and record cloth with liquid) and give your needles and records a good clean up. if you think its worse record with phone and post up so we can see what you mean

what if someone has a lot of music knowledge but has never dj'd in their life. should they get a shot, or even get gigs because they know music?

hmmm i dont think its that bad. its a legitimate break and the final part will go to who picks up skills quickest, so the better dj will win, but for sure to get in youll have to be marketable. which is a fact of life. how many times have fatties and fuglies been ragged on here (refer whinge thread) so yeah fer sure they wont be picked up

things may have changed as this is the third series. but i went to the first one. basically hundreds of peeps showed up, some waited ten hours! and basically you spent two mins with the judges who ask you about three questions. so they decide the contestants from there so it dont mattet how ecperienced you are its how much you can express in those two minutes and three q's. nothing to do with your djing skills in first round.

yo. like it man, finish it up. yeah i see the gameboy sound and love it. i think i know what street means, does the tempo change when you drop at 2.11? the sounds are awesome but it just seemed to slow down. the first part is very 2steppy, then the change up of sound with tempo seems a bit off. if intentional maybe a second of silence? i dont know. but finish this just for the gameboy sound alone ha ha on third listen now, not so bad, maybe cuz im expecting it

this made me realise i havent posted a mix since nov! i think in dec i layed off the decks, then in jan i got hung up trying to do a 90 bpm hip hop mix and it drove me nuts, and ive never really gotten back into the saddle.

added to soundcloud thread http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... 8239#68239 the one from 5th of nov is the best mix i have ever made ha ha ha the other one i was experimenting with hip hop and tracks with all lyrics and no intros. so its all hot mixed (i.e. i am dropping second track over first track with both faders open). its aiight, but i fugged first transition and the attempt at cutting sounds stupid. these were all done in absolute mode, which basically means you pick the needle up and put it to start it goes to start, you pick it up and put in middle it goes to middle.

im just a beginner and here are my two mixes. ones good, one was me experimenting with hip hop kindygarden by eggssell
