only get a direct drive. belt drives wear out and dont have the required torque for djing. remember you will be cueing and hence stopping, holding and then releasing the record. also i think direct drives better hold the pitch. if im not mistaken the direct drive was the one technics pateneted, then when that ended all the super OEMs came out.

so its been a bit now, whats yer opinions on it? ive seen a lot of negatives about it, mainly resource hogging and causing cpu spikes which is messing with latency and the like. OSX and windows (in fact mac boys were first to represent but then again that could be just there are more mac boys with traktor). everybody's still going okay? maybe mention what h/ware you using too (like audio4/8/10 or s4 or so on)

ha ha nah all good. it was just my opinion. im sure to others anyone with a laptop is just another laptop dj. and for the record craze uses relative mode and a controller anyways these days, so that mixes it up.

CD DVS is not a controller? CD DVS is like using CD's. Using the CDJ as a controller to send midi signals to control Traktor is like a controller.

first one, except for tiesto who uses CDJ's (correct me if this has changed) and for you, go for the one you enjoy most I spose? i guess i personally wouldnt say oh yeah craze and atrak are controller djs like ean golden right? id still call them turntable djs. but thats just IMO

i know that awesome thats why i said im the first one, im not questioning that. im just saying putting DVS in one bucket with controllers is not matching like for like. a DVS in relative mode basically makes your turntables big ass cdj's. a DVS in absolute mode makes your turntables like turntables.

hmmm i dont think your poll makes sense. where would you classify craze, atrak, tiesto, carl cox, shiftee, ztrip and the like. in the first one or in the other two.... anyways i use turntables with 80% of the time a DVS, 20% of the time real vinyl. so i guess i am controller and software?????

cheers man. i think shadow and cut chemist are a bit leet for me. forgot all about this thread. yeah man as above one of the probs was only two of the songs had any musical only parts so couldnt do the standard blend. cuz it was always gonna be vocal on vocal. i eventually got this mix to 95% okay (still felt like vocals were almost about to smash) and thought id sleep on it then never went back to it. ha ha ha. i shoild try to find the 95 per center if i can. oh and yeah it wasnt the harmonic thing that was making it sound bad, it was vocals clashing, or cuts sounding stupid because not really at a build or a breakdown or somewhere appropriate. but yeah man cheers!!!
