  1. ummm yes he does. remember the death star set he rocks cdjs in em.
  2. rep that shit bonz
  3. oh reread the title you meant illegal. hmmm that i dont know about
  4. but that because england is a much smaller island so its heaps easier to broadcast from a boat but for real when you say pirate i assume you mean non commercial. there should be a few local ones. also plenty of internet ones. cbg did a set for kiss (who are quasi commercial in that they are still primarily run by sponsorships i think) and tomy has a radio gig up in brissy which you can get online. and dj armed has his online thingo too.
  5. i think jonnys played on the same night as aoki before, at chinese laundry right jonny? ive never seen him dj but cant say im a big fan of his productions. not saying they bad but cant say ive ever bought any, prob just not my style.
  6. ha ha its not music its track metadata (or whatever you call it, you know all the info)
  7. hey bonz il let wazza answer the rest when he gets around to it, but in regards to above, as per wazza's comment no actual sound is coming from your MPK. it is just sending command controls to whatever program you are using. so the quality of sound is not affected by plugging the MPK in by USB.
  8. que? i only half understood that paragraph.
  9. i just checked who this terrace martin cat is. he's actually a producer, and musician (sax and keys), even played for quincy jones. and he played in snoops live band the snoopadelics who i heard stole the show of the beastie boys a few years back at field day or was it good vibes. anywhos guy is quite talented. the melrose ep is on aussie itunes but as usual at a ridiculously stupid price such that i can ship it in cheaper from overseas. how the hell does that work!
  10. with the new DJM900 coming out in may stores are slashing the price of the DJM800 but they won't last. grab it now. only a low low low price of $1590 hi djaz
  11. when i searched for my starting kit i specifically looked for tt's. and yeah it ended up costing me double my budget. the reason being i wanted to learn how to use turntables, not just learn how to mix. i think that is the reason why some do it (well its why i did it). i wanted to do as i had seen dj's i admire do, and then make mixtapes for mates with my newly acquired skill (yeah it hasnt quite worked out that way...). and its prob the same for some of the cdjer folk. they see their dj of choice and decide hey i want to do that.
  12. but DVSs have sync buttons? tt's and cdj's will always exist becuase i think dj's from day one have always seen themselves as elite. you know hiding tracks lists, white labelling records, sharing bootlegs only amongst themselves. and they view their art much like that of a jedi. something that can only be earnt by paying your dues and a lot of hard work. while things have eased a bit, a lot of that gets passed down from gen to gen. so there will always be an element of people who want to go back to the old (and some would argue the true) school. i mean people still skate board even though there is now rip sticks
  13. ha ha they will never take over esp. not in a club environment! cdj's never killed off vinyl, and with the emergence and improvement of DVSs, they never will. but yes, i think their acceptance will continure to grow.
  14. since buying my kit and for maybe the 12 months before that, maybe only once have i seen someone not using traktor or serato. the whole king street wharf, the rocks area, the china town area, the north shore area. i havent hit the cross in a minute so wouldnt know ut im sure jonny said its not used there. in regards to controllers, the only one ive seen is a dude in arthouse. well not really a controller but he must have a midi enabled mixer, cuz thats pretty much all he was using with his laptop. and he was setting off beatmashes and other effects buy twisting and sliding his mixer if you read on djtt and NI forum, it seems pretty massive in the US. cuz some dude will say you cant use a controlle rin a club then a million people come back with all their residency details. but yeah as above just ask, and also check djtt for the article where they talk about how best to handover in the booth so you can setup your controller. like not using the poor old tech1200 as a stand
  15. oh and skratchy makes an appearance q's scratching is always off the hook. but his drumming is unbeatable!
  16. i cant post any links up from work but there is a vid of qbert, rafik and shiftee filmed from q's university (otherwise known as some part of his house) using the new traktor 2. but whats even more important is the timecode on one side, and scratchy seal samples on the other has finally been released!!! though its probably not as big a deal now that you can buy scratchy seal digitally. but meh finally NI getting some dual sided time codes, and that way you can carry just two of these babies and you can scratch it up anywhere even if they dont have traktor. EDITED: watched it now so put in roll call
  17. oh man im gonna have to cop that new melrose ep w terrace martin. this track kills
  18. oh and for anyone who dont know atmosphere. here is one of their tracks. its happy as hell, they also have a lot of deep and dark ones, but i love this track. cant help but feel good! they got a new cd dropping this month i think. cant wait
  19. one last one. here is his collabo with slug of atmosphere (who i also rave about heaps). this was from volume 2 of their felt series. it was awesome there was an accompanying comic drawn by jim mahfood. one of my fave artists of all time. of all time. it was actually thru him i discovered murs, who is one of the best lyricists in the game. if y'all want to check some happy hip hop that the labels will never release grab the felt series. and look up mahfoods comics (grrl scouts, the clerks comics, stupid comics and a shyte load of art books)
  20. oh saw this on murs youtube channel. love this track. had this in that hip hop mix i was working on. never did a good enuff run to put it up for critique then got way over it. maybe theres been enuff time to go back to it. oh and produced by 9th wonder who ive raved about a million times. one of the best beat producers in the game.
  21. didnt even know murs had a new collabo with a dude named terrace martin. bro told me there was a sneaker song featuring murs. searched and found the clip. its aiight, not quite feeling terrace though i do like his hook. but murs still goes okay. nice song though for the sneaker heads
  22. the dicers are just midi buttons. anything that can take midi commands can use it. the s4 already has puck load of buttons i dont get what more you need? and if you dont like the out of the box setup you can map to how you want
  23. yip they do.
  24. you can touchy touchy
  25. for the cashed up people https://www.djwarehouse.com.au/magento/ ... -T1_DJM900
