ha ha yeah that would have been a good game till ruggs spoiled it with that cheat site. i bought copyright control sometime last year, which was kinda like remix the manifesto but more from a production point of view, and sample based music. and the best bit was when they showed how led zeppelin had sued some rappers, only then to have shown led zeppelin had taken many of their hits including stairway to heaven from folk songs or older non-charting songs. the movie showed a good point though. you will never have classic sample based albums like it takes a nation of millions to hold us back (one of my fave albums of all time, i still have the orig vinyl my older bro got in 87 or 88 ), because of all the clearance problems. and chuck d said back then everyone thought rap/ hip hop was a fad that would die so didnt give two shits about the sampling. its only when it became international that record labels (not artists) started seeing the potential $ so decided to start suing everyone. now i do agree that if $ are made then pay the royalties, but it should be a simple % of sales system and not a bartering system. because what happens is if bigg producers want a sample, labels try to jack them for the sample. which is why most people now say fugg it and we ended up with the 808/ synth generation. which in its own right was/is good.

at the top left of your waveform in soundcloud there should be a share button. select embed then copy the code onto here and it should come up. you may need to have allow share selected in your track (cant remember). might be worth a sticky Mr Cuper

i read recently on one of the gamer sites deadmau5 looped a sample from the zelda theme for one of his tracks. see everyone in the genre does it. and for the record barbara also includes a sample of a chromeo track
-
yeah but ducksauce didnt steal it. EDM is a sample based genre, so using a sample is the norm. be it for a remix or to make a whole track. riva starr used wreckx n effect, frederick mooij uses just about every new jack swing or early 90's hip hop, prodigy used beastie boys who i think sampled it off slick rick or public enemy some other rapper before them. now while some mask it to unrecognisable (i.e. prodigy), some make it clearly obvious like frederick mooij or duck sauce. EDIT: oh and prodigy dont always mask it such as the smack my bitch up sample

ummm i think this has been spoken about before. and i wouldnt say thats all they did...
-
that is a little bit difficult though without having preknowledge, best gained from reading. because if you hear a track doing a sound youve never heard, how will you know what genre it is? youll be left saying thats one of those womba womba wombas, thats a rappity-rap, thats a oh-ah etc.

of course genrification is very subjective. nice avatar rhetski

soundcloud just search for the name of the track you want. you may also find some official rerubs which you can then buy

your assuming everyone keeps their tunes in itunes. other than loading stuff onto my iphone i dont go near it meh.... i don't have any problems ripping with itunes. Seems to be fine... i don't use it to listen to music, because normally i'm using traktor, but seems fine for ripping mp3s for me. I use it to convert wav's i've recorded into mp3's as well. seems alright to me im sure its perfectly fine for burning. what i meant was, djaz was saying its easier just to use itunes becuase your tracks are already there, as opposed to other programs where ya have to search your file folders. while some people including myself, only use itunes to put songs on my phone then i take em out of there, hence i have no tracks in my itunes.

gets dance floors pumping every time i play it haha IMO, it's a horrendous song. No Comment. i think its an awesome song. loved it when it first hit. i dont know if its not appropriate for a wedding but definitely not based on the track that preceeded it. the playlist game is meant to be what would you play after the previous song. we almost pumped it into the dancy songs for the youngins, but then someone steered back to the oldies. whose going to think of the children...

all the youtube artists do the cupboard thang. you see it in their collabs. they will receive the beats from whoeever, then go to their cupboard with the beats playing in their head phones and record their vocals. and i remember in the 90's the toilet was somewhat used as an echo effect. i cant remember if it was de la, atcq or digital underground but im sure someone said theyd do that.
-
really? i would have thought more trancy. plus add in vocal house, and disco from old to new

no ones taking it serious, because its a joke thread. the dance scene is a gay scene. many clubs are gangster owned and gay run/ promoted. all the best parties back in the day anyway. it was all fun and games until the tuff pricks wrecked it all by being dumb tuff pricks. after that there had to be a bit more of a split as the gays grew tired of the mostly straight crowd. which they didnt mind and grew to accept, until people started belting each other. so they started having all their own little parties. so yeah man, their anthems are probably the exact same anthems you listen to.
