are you sure he wasnt just cueing? for vinyl you have to spin back to yer start point everytime you want to cue it up after pitching it (which could be several times well for me anywho ). and before you drop its not unusual to hit the one several times, which can look like a scratch movement. such as for me i count 1,2,3,4 and then from 5 to 8 i quite often hit the one in double time.

just a note w building your pc, buying the best of everything doesnt mean you will get the best. cuz sometimes not everything gels. do yer homework. toms hardware is a good site. i remember donkeys ago when i still lived at home we built one using the best and newest of eveything and the thing was a dogg and needed a lot of tweaking. then when i bought my first machine for myself, i picked specific parts for a movie making machine (i setout to make a documentary. still got like 13 hours of footage in a shoe box but got over it and started to feel iffy about doing real life stuff) and anywho read shyte loads of websites and talking to several people to build this machine which killed it for its time. and it lasted a good four yrs with the only update was a dvd writer (im talking back in the dark ages kids, this machine had a floppy disc drive ) edit: actually my lappy is about 4.5 yrs old, so the desktop actually served me for at least six years without a hiccup

yeah he did a few dj seshs while he was in oz. and before anyone hacks on him he can dj and he can also break. in fact so can apl.de.ap from BEP. but yeah im still pretty sure he said it was his time hanging w presets that got him into it and that he wanted to make that style of music.

apparently its the S4 soundcard. the firmware of the sound card is not capable of being used reliably with windows. in the meantime if you have any other soundcard (an audio2/4/8 or even the cheap $25 USB sound cards) and use that as the interface the S4 works perfectly. NI will likely fix it with the next firmware and fuck something else up as is the norm.
