600 each for the st150's or 600 for both? 600 ea may be a bit much as new they are 650 off the bat and im sure less if you buy slipmats and cords and what not. if 600 for both, what are you waiting for djaz get in there

djaz prob popular in vinyl setups because only rarely will you have more than two turnies. in the scenarios you raise above you say itll cost you an extra 1400 if you sell whole kit and get 1000's and the djm 800 OR extra 700 if you sell just the mixer amd buy a djm800. doesnt that mean in the first scenario youre getting two 1000's for 700 bucks? surely that sounds smarter if yer maths are right? and of course assuming you have 1400 bucks

oh and the t60's have shyte all torque which means jumping onto another deck will require a large amount of adjustment. you can definitely learn to beat match on them but when you move to say a super OEM you will need to start exerting a bit more force to stop the vinyl and less force when dropping the track. i think people also say the motors in them are pretty unreliable in terms of keeping constant pitch.

im sure theres the anatomy of that somewhere here soory kn phone so may take a bit to search and then paste. but you know the bit that sticks to the arm. thats the headshell. the cartridge attaches to that. the cartridge also houses the needle or stylus. you can also get ones that are headshell and cartridge in one like the concordes.

dont kow too much because i know buckleys on cdj's (having only had a few hours on reloop rmp1's), but i would say that you would get more selling your current kit as a set. i dont think there is much demand for just the DJM400. again this is based on ebay browsing alone. but you'll prob get a buyer who would want a whole setup. as to what you get after that ???

some aiigt ones (felt & atmosphere ftw). just had a brief look. some are a bit steep. $100 for the felt 3!!! im sure its now out of print but still... i wouldnt go more than $10 for a 2nd hand 12". and unless i really really wanted it i'd prefer even less

im sure this was already mentioned somewhere. still not cheap. i just built the spec i wanted and it came to $3,039.... which i wouldnt be able to afford for another 2 years, of which then the new ones will be out for about $5K! ha ha ha guess ill stick to my trusty 5yr old machine

theres this one called a mac ive used trend micro for about 10 years and have only ever had one virus about 8 years ago which was my fault because trendmicro warned me and i said ignore. but yeah 8 years clean on 2 different machines, and i never play it safe and go whereever i want. EDIT: oh its not free, but they usually give you something with your first purchase like a thumb drive, and then it aint much each year. and as above id rather never having to reformat or get all these nasties you read about.

oh people also say techs last forever but ive also heard that with regular use you need regular servicing. i personally dont know so maybe some of the owners can testify

no one said they are the best just that they are the industry standard. and thats because they invented the magnetic brushless direct drive platter. all the other super OEM turnies actually have better torque, more accurate pitch control, more stable pitch control (thats versus the mk2 anyway). so the true advantage of having the industry standard is there is no need to make an adjustment when ya get a gig. however having used both the st150 and the 1200, the adjustment for the stronger torque only takes about 3 songs to get used to. in regards to what features you can get. there are those that have a wide pitch range but really you dont need it as thi gs start to sound stupid. also some have that thing where the pitch of the song stays constant even when you increase speed. but i have heard it sounds stupid. plus you have to select line out rather than phono. my personal opinion i yer gonna be buying. buy direct drive. and dont go any less torque then the techs. that should be the minimum.

nice setups chris and j0rdz. karma are you talking full controllers or like x1's and dice controllers. there are a few peeps rocking vestaxs and awesome just go his denon but guess they havent posted. djaz posted his but then changed to cds. and heaps of people rock dices not sure if anyone has posted it. i posted up my mpd which i have mapped on paper but never actually mapped it in traktor. mainly cuz im just a beginner so have stuck w straight two turnies and a mixer style mixing. never used looping or effects or anything other than load track in traktor. so didnt see it necessary to map the thang
