  1. oh damn i forgot about this track. this was one of the best club bangers of all time. a lot of dpgc stuff was more for cruising, hanging or bbqing but this shyte pops off. its a shade sheist track ft nate and kurupt, one of the best lyricists in the game at 1.33 is typical nate dogg killing
  2. im sure ive said before i was bigg ass down with the whole deathrow g-funk scene. so i was a mad fan of nate dogg so gonna post up some clips for those who were there to remember, and those that werent to get a bit of history. if you aint down with the sound all good, nothing to see here then. anywho, heres a track with thug life (pac's crew before he jumped on death row). and a very relevant song for the moment. not sure when clip was done (no pac or nate??) but track was from way back
  3. RIP holmie. with the original crew 213 nate dogg was pretty much the voice of the g-funk movement. while others would follow (like danny boy and k-ci and jojo) they were always more the r&b component to a rap/r&b track, while nate was singing g-funk! with that deep powerful voice and ability to sing and sing/rap. introduced to the world by death row records with the rest of the dogg pound he basically made a lot of dre, snoop, dpg tracks. he even had a commercial hit with warren g on regulate. and had his own album of classics, as well as solo songs on the many soundtracks death row records were tapped to do. one more day from murder was the case is one of my fave songs of all time, of all time. and who could ever forget from 2001, "wooooo hey hhhaayyyy........... i smoke weed everyday" ill youtube bomb this shyte when i get home.
  4. when i was travelling thru japan with some mates, we had a cd-walkman (ha ha yeah old school i know), so we put the ear buds in a larger japanese tea cup (which resembles a small bowl) while in the hotel room. worked awesome.
  5. get these $39. does 80 decibels which should be enuff for the room. and they are portable. http://www.digitaltrends.com/lifestyle/ ... -speakers/
  6. oh i gets ya. yeah i was just saying isnt avenue q like a bigg famous show. anywho looks like yer doing good man
  7. avenue q's not small? or is this a reproduction of the NY show
  8. i buy heaps from overseas but have never bought dj equip so cant tell you what its like or point you in the right direction. if you wait long enuff one of the big 3 (store dj, dj warehouse, lights & sounds) will be on sale (if they aint already on sale check em). it doesnt go a month without a sale!
  9. hi sol dios. so a tequila fan or an armored core fan. do an intro in intros as to what music you into, whats yer favourite colour and all that. in regards to the controllers dont really know much about them but a few people here do so just wait a bit. but googling it is $409 (not much more than $400) at store dj, and im sure they are a bit bing lee these days, everything is negotiable. i dont think ive ever paid full listed price, even just for cables... https://www.storedj.com.au/products/NUM-MIXTRACKPRO also it says it comes with vdj LE, so i would say yes you can get it to work traktor and vdj, it is likely just a MIDI controller
  10. pretty cool article. best bit is last bit where he talks about how he had to convice kanye's tour to let him dj with a computer and that they were using the instant replay thang, which ive seen people use on the chapelle show i think. http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2011 ... rato-works
  11. in naeem's own words. anywho looks like he blogging now, so anyone wanting to keep up to date with whats popping from the spank rock camp http://spankrock.net/

  17. Overall comment, I really enjoyed this. While not all tracks were to my liking I think your song selection and arrangement were awesome. This felt like a journey (as per some comments below). Love the more 2-steppy type moments, and love all the random tweaks, voice samples and lasers, which I know are probably from the tracks (I think or are you dropping samples?) but your use of them over silences or percussion bits are really good. Transitions in general were seamless, yes in my review I speak specifically about points only cuz I was listening specifically for that, which you don’t when listening to music so yeah man great job at that. Anywho the below review was done chronologically while I was listening and I have assumed some things like transitions or samples etc……. At 2.12 was the bells and new beats you or part of the track? Either way fitted perfectly. 6.00 nice use of silence, is that you dropping the flavour flav sample? 9.41, this transition from outgoing track elements into the new track elements is perfect and works well. Did you spend a lot of time organising tracks? 11ish, is that you backspinning? I know a lot of peeps look down at backspin when overused or used as a bailout but its actually hard to do well and even harder to use at the right time. If you hit that backspin then that was on point! (oh just heard a few more so maybe it was the producer which a lot of dub/ ragga producers do) 19.36ish, was that a cut? If so it was very good. 21 nice continuation in the journey. 26.00 even get glitchy, nice. 30.00 back to chilled but an upbeat chill. What track is this???? 31.00 (okay first negative part) not the best transition, both loud and slightly off. I think I even hear a warp in the pitch did you touch the platter at the time? But as above recovers quite quickly, and would normally be inaudible. 35.00 first doon doon doon was off or out of place. Nice vibe going at this point in the mix, more than just head bopping desk drumming too! 39.00 nice vocal sample drop, you? 45.00 im dancing now ha ha ha. 48.00+ nice transition and long one too. You nailed that one. 51.30ish not really feeling the appregio part of outro and why does volume of the appregio drop all of a sudden? But admittedly at that volume its much better, maybe should of faded it out earlier. All other times where there is no comments means it was rocking!! Some Q’s above, nice if you let us know mate. Anyways you killing it mate.
  18. Damn this was a pain in the ass to finish up, either it was voda fail, sound cloud or iphone but either way they all suck balls such that it may have affected my listening experience in the last 14 mins but at least that part was vibing so I still enjoyed it. Soundcloud has some new mobile site and I thought cool, but it would not play past 31 mins! So went to normal soundcloud, but it just kept crashing when I tried to fastworward! So downloaded app which let me fast forward to where I was up to but stopped every minute or so! Fuuuuuuuu… Anyways my review.................
  19. hey man went to dl from soundcloud so can listen on phone for review when i realised i had popped my cap (thing just kept hanging). doh! doesnt reset till next thurs. but all good will stream from my phone using its 3G and write up for ya. been playing it this morning! just checking this is straight up vinyl huh no dvs? cuz i can hear that warm warm dust sound.
  20. ha ha if i go frm my vinyl and not use the dvs, we could get things from the beatles, the beach boys, the rocky IV soundtrack, wierd al, 80's hip hop 12 inches (fat boys, 2 live crew, melle melle, fresh prince & jazzy jeff), 80's & 90's pop 12 inches and singles (skid row, gunners, kylie, bros, milli vanilli, madonna, wham), shyte load of new jack swing, and a little bit of early house and maybe some acid (im sure ive got this wicked bomb the bass 12 inch).
  21. at random yeah could end up nasty. but planned i think you can work that. indie into punk into ska into dub into dubstep into 2step into minimal and then yer back in EDM. not that i could do it ha ha ha. check ztrip, peanut butter wolf and AM who go all over the shop
  22. not to rain on yer enthusiasm cuper ( i too had this idea where i would run a shuffle on my ipod which nearing7000 songs. write down the next ten tracks in that order and then try mixing them) but to be fair didnt we all agree jordz idea was a good one? yet it didn. go anywhere. of course we could run both at the sametime
  23. eggssell

    ?????????

i take it back. maybe he did produce the kylie one but it never got releAsed (prob cuz he asked too much for it). it was just an online leak so who knows. could of just been a mashup of an unreleased kylie track with brazil. but the other one is a just a sample by one of that chicks producers. (according to wiki ha ha ha. never heard of her)
  24. eggssell

    ?????????

he didnt produce the other tracks. the other producers sampled his track
