  1. dont know how to do the latter. but for recording in traktor, you need to ensure one of your outs from your mixer is plugged into the audio 8. then ensure in preferences you have selected the appropriate input (i use the INs for D). then you just hit record. depends on your layout, i use 4 deck external so i have a little Record section in the top right where it has a button, a gain knob and a meter. I find i need to turn it up to about 2 o'clock else too soft. and thats with gains on the mixer at 12. but watch out for clipping. i noticed on my previous mix some strange digitisation sounds which i thought was just bad conversion from wav to mp3 (oh yeah traktor records in wav) but i actually think it was clipping cuz i do remember the meters bouncing and staying in red.
  2. heres one i whipped up earlier he he jus kidding thats from lights sounds SO DONT USE IT!!! i repeat don't use else your own ass
  3. i thinks he wants a name for his bizness not for himself... Party Rockers Pty Limited
  4. i meant like a banner on top saying "Need A DJ" or maybe an Ad down the left hand side. And i assume youve added it to the search function (metadata is that waht its called). That way say the secretary, HR, directors or whoever is looking to find a dj they can easily see a link. nah mean. because unlike everything else on the forum this one isnt actually aimed at members of the forum, i.e. DJs or producers. Rather people wanting a DJ.
  5. hey cupe. glad to finally have this up here! just missed out for xmas season. my company was looking for a dj recently (apparentally im not allowed to do it ). anywho, was just thunking maybe put a link up at Navigation and maybe some other big plug for it (with picture and title). only cuz if i was a person looking for a dj and stumbled upon a forum i wouldnt think to look at section names. and would likely have thought mobile dj's is the place to post. secondly, i may have mentioned this before, are we going to make them become members to post?? that may turn people away.... thridly, not have anything set incontract and work on an honesty system but anyone who gets a gig thru here should prob donate something to poor cupey just my $0.02
  6. yeah i thinks 1.2.7 is another one to skip. another 3 threads have come up today (one german, one possibly italian and i dont remember the 3rd). now i know whingers or haters are always more likely to post on the internet but if its worse case scenario especially for the giggers i'd stay clear. since i dont do shyte all with traktor other then right click load track i have never bothered to update, but on the other hand i usually like to keep my stuff up to date so i dont want to be on 1.2.4 forever. itll be good in a month there'll be like 80% of us rocking traktor!
  7. anyone with a spare $3G plus someone posted up two unopened MK6's! starting from 3 grand.
  8. damn source raver nice setup. is the middle screen dedicate to adjf
  9. yeah for sure id wait. not sure when it came out, i dont regularly check but noticed 2 seperate threads on NI this morn about people saying they had to roll back not only traktor but also the bundled in drivers for the soundcard. i think 1.2.6 might still be available but maybe ill just wait for 1.2.8 or 1.3!
  10. hey all. im still on 1.2.4 because i know 1.2.5 killed a lot of peoples setups, and then never got around to 1.2.6 even though that one seemed fine. only cuz ive been reading about 1.2.7 and everyone is saying its causing drop outs or crappy sounds from the audio 4/8's. good to hear people opinions here as there are a few now (sorry to all those still waiting). so for now im sticking with trusty 1.2.4. anyone moved on? might be worth saying what you rocking too. TSP audio 8 Windows XP SP3
  11. whats even more awesome is this wold have been done by nu-mark and cut chemist prob on 3-4 turntables flipping vinyl (though as with a lot of turntablists sets it would have been maybe a whole album or two which they jumped around on).
  12. hey man gave it a listen. i dont know the origsong so just judging it as a tune as opposed to a mix. yeah very nice chill. i liked the drop (only on crappy lappy speakers, but then popped headphones on, so i guess same as above re: bass). nice little final build and crash at 3.30.
  13. some start at 33
  14. you on a lappy cupe? you can get fan stands for reasonably cheap. i got one from capitol square in syd (where buck said all the comp stuff is). im sure it was less than fitty. has two fans on it. if it aint a lappy, i dont know enuff but i think you can get heat sinks right?
  15. hi again i dont know my cd players that well, apparentally these have a motorised platter (which i assume means a spinning platter?). anywho 6 hours to go, and the pair are at $325 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT
  16. check the 1200 wiki entry for the serial number thang and you can tell how old they are. Also there is a way to see if the drive is alrught by settig pitch to just off zero and running at 33. i think the middle set of dots on the platter should remAin still. im pretty sure tubby posted it somewhere in beginners or buy gear
  17. i read the Dub wiki. i see what you mean by it became its own genre. but you can see it never started as its own genre, kinda like dubtep, bmore, and countless other genres. but i guess we dont call all house, disco even though it derived from disco. so youre right. COMMENTS DELETED
  18. its all good man, all i was saying was dubstep is a derivative of dub, i wasnt agreeing with haydos that his mix is a dubstep mix (i aint listened to it, nor was i agreeing that all dub is dubstep. so i dont actually think we are on opposite sides.
  19. thats what i said. dub came first? even in the 60's it involved taking the instrumental of a track and fuggin w/ it. which began with reggae music. then someone took that and did it to pop music, then to funk music, and eventually to 2step. and the reggae roots of dub was used a lot of times in dub mixes.
  20. either way genres suck, and they are only buzzwords created by the media, so that trends and fads can be started, milked dry and then hated on. how many times has hip hop died in the media, for people in the know, hip hop never skipped the beat. i watched style wars again over the weekend, back in 82 they thought it would never last...
  21. from wiki itself
  22. yeah but "hou" isnt a genre, nor is it a derivative of house. i am saying dubstep was a form of "dub". it was the dub mixing of 2step or garage songs. as opposed to the dub of funk or dub of pop or the dub of rnb songs. okay fair enuff it is now its own genre because producers started producing music that sounded like early dubstep remixers. so yes you can argue that you are making a dub mix or a dubstep mix (i.e not all dub is dubstep), except of course unless you are doing a dub mix of a 2step or garage track, cuz then you will be making dubstep at its purest.
  23. i think the roadcase has been refurbed. makes no mention about decks. just ask em man
  24. seeing as the number of people who come on to sell gear is about 4-5 a year, everything else is ebay finds. dont think its that necessary to have something diff to buy & sell.
  25. no R in Chuuch.
