What are the cons to beatmatching? What are the cons of beat sync?
-
I don't think this discussion will ever end these days but I now will choose sync over beatmatch. Reason - if your tempo is synced you have more freedom to be creative with your mixing; incorporating samples and quick cuts and blends etc. Use the technology that's available to you to create something different

LMFAO feat. Lil Jon - Shots (Spitfire Remix)
LabRat replied to LabRat's topic in Drum'n'Bass & Jungle
Cheers guys. If anyone plays it out and it seems to be going ok feel free to film it for me Def - that started life as a fairly simple squarish sorta sound I found in my file of tricks and i just played around with a few plugins. I'm pretty glad that sound came out the way it did. Sounds tuff lol I'm looking forward to producing more of this stuff. Next one will hopefully be an original -

Welcome mate. I go off road a bit up two rocks but I'm not very dedicated lol just some fun for me. Enjoy the forum

IMO, the fastest way or setting up a lighting rig is to reduce the about of lights effectively. With that stand there, you'd want to distribute the weight evenly or spread the legs out wide because a little knock will send that ass up
-
Just do it. Every comp regardless what it is, is exposure. The more exposure the better. You'll have a stack of fun doing it and you might score a gig out of it

how come this isnt a sticky? anyways, question about EXS24 patches (.exs) I can't seem to find where to store them. i've dropped my file into User > Library > Application Support > Logic > Sampler Instruments but it doesnt show up when i open EXS24. why is this or where do i put it?

I thought they had been discontinued? Have fun with it

Usb's are fine. Just bring an extra for back up. A lot of people are choosing this over software now. A few guys at the station play with USB

Cd players these days are essentially the same deal if you're bot bothered about hot cuing or looping etc. Play/pause Cue Pitch lock (on pioneer it's called master lock I think? - it's a button above the tempo slider) On the cdj's platter, the top activates "scratch" and the sides are pitch bend forward and reverse. You're able to switch "vinyl mode" off by the button that's got "vinyl" lit up. All other basic functions are the same. You set up your cue by hitting play then pause when you're at the spot you wanna start. Cue button goes back to your cue point or the beginning of the track. As for the 800. If you have your master cue activated, you'll be able to hear your master channel as well as the channel you're cuing up. If you wanna play with effects, there's a knob to which sends the effects to each channel + master. Big clearish, yellowish button activates it, wet / dry is the output of the effect and parameter knobby thing adjusts the speeds of the effects. On the left there are 4 blue buttons. They're like quick effect sorta things. Once activated, the colour knobs control the wet / dry output of that effect. There's filter, flanger, harmonic and crusher I think... Hit up your local music shop to have a play. I'm on the otherside of the country but hope that helps a little lol

Like most of us here, we've all done gigs where we've needed to set up our own rigs. Bad news, you're walking back and fourth to your car regardless to collect your equipment. Good news, you have access to the loading zone!! You won't need to worry carrying that stuff long distances. And like chris said, you're not carrying a crate full of records or turntables. They're heavy as fuck!

Hardstyle all the way! If they're real shufflers they'll shuffle to anything. I shuffle to drum n bass. Just gotta switch up the style a little and it's sweet
-
To my knowledge, that track wasn't stolen. There was also another version done using that same track by Kylie. It was altered slightly but deadmau5 had control over the work. Same thing with avicci. I'm aware that these guys get full rights to the tune or whatever
-
I don't think that's right man, not sure on the exact rules but I can easy sample lyrics from a song, make a remix, give credit to vocal artist and as long as I don't make money on it that's fine Well that depends how the artist or label feels about it. Obviously if you're making money you'll need to be laying royalties
-
In a nutshell, anything that's not yours you need to pay rights for. I believe the samples from vengeance and sounds to sample etc are royalty free for use in your own productions but you're still paying the original when purchasing the packs

lol at pic. This mix is wicked. Banging tunes
-
Dunno :/ I'll have to check. I just saw one yesterday and it's integrated to work with traktor. Very rugged looking too
-
The new denon controller looks wild! I saw it the other day and that's traktor ready so be different and do that
-
lol just gotta find out when my cousins party :/
