yeah man that sounds like heaps, assuming that doesnt include sound (speakers and the like), though you'll prob have enuff for that too.

i dont know jack all about cdj's so ill let the others speak, but you could prob get a good cdj package at any of the stores that comes with decks mixers and case.

im pretty much still a rookie to DJing, only been doing a bit of bedrooming for 4-5 months and i started out with MP3 Djing n running a midi controller ($500) off my laptop with DJ software as it was way cheaper then buy CDJ's or vinyl and to see if i liked it

i did like it so just recently i bought 2 used pioneer CDJ400's and DJM400 mixer for $1700 and its all in a case, they are intermediate CDJ's and the closest your gonna get to pioneers big brother Range (900's,1000's,2000')

but yeh i dont know what to recommend as im relatively new to it, but thats just what i got so hopefully that gives u an idea....

but ive also got my laptop, 2 15" speakers, 2 15" dedicated subs, 1 12" speaker, heap of lighting n shit like smoke machine, amp all that shit, other wise i probly would have been able to afford CDJ's a while back :P

If you're patient you should keep an eye out for second hand bargains, but make sure you research brands, models and inspect good before buying.

If you don't want to stuff around too much or prefer brand new then maybe consider the following from StoreDJ:

Allen & Heath Xone 22 DJ Mixer. $509

2 x Pioneer CDJ400 CD/Mp3 Player (Twin Pack). $1649

Behringer Truth B2031A Powered 8" Monitor (Pair). $449

Sennheiser HD25-II Headphones. $299

TOTAL. $2906

You can spend the remaining cash on audio cables and some tunes to get you started.

cdj 350/ denon dnx 120 pack

plays cd's, mp3's off usb, had computer connectivity etc

and a good solid, meat and potatoes mixer to get you going. also at the excellent price of $1890 with free shipping from dj warehouse

(maybe thing about adding a road case)

http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/djgear/dj ... -pack.html

mid range~behringer truth monitors (aka speakers)

$300

http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/studio-ge ... itors.html

headphones: alot of options availible, mostly up to personal preferance, but ide go for some sennheiser hd215's for my 1st set, they are about $120, but it varies store to store so shop around :)

all up comes in under budget and will be ample to get you started, but yeh all the accessories could add up fast so keep that in mind. you will probs need..

big cd wallet- office works etc (cheaper than a dedicated "dj style one"

couple of usb sticks (4g are like $12 these days)

maybe also thing about a desk, if you do not already have one, a dj bag if you please or some p.a speakers, earplugs. etc.

hope this helps and goodluck.

sorry guys but i dont kno wat most of tat is could u explain 2 me wat the r and y u need them??? tat would b really helpfull thanks

*know *what * that *you *to *what *they *are *why *you *that *be

my advice would be (for new gear):

1) this pack is at a beginner price, but you'll feel pretty comfortable on a club set up because this has a similar lay out, and the RMP3 CD players act a lot like CDJ1000's... meaning you won't have to upgrade in a hurry.

http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/djgear/dj ... -pack.html

2) these speakers, because there is no point mixing on shit speakers because you love your music so much, right? they also have the amps built in to the speaker, so you don't have to buy a separate amp which will save you space.

http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/djgear/sp ... itors.html

3) these headphones because they are quality, and if you break them, all parts can be replaced easily. On the other hand, if you got sick of them you'd be able to sell them for decent coin because they are pretty popular.

all that should come in under your $3k budget and leave room for a whole bunch of tunes at beatport (or similar)

In most DJ related forums you've be crucified for not using the "search" function or first reading the "stickies". But we're all friendly here ;) (most of us anyway).

You should definitely check out these sticky threads to get you up to speed before you even think about buying equipment.
