so I pretty much sold all my equipment. tts and S4

now im not really looking to get right back into it, but fuckkkkk I need something to mix on

so im thinking a controller with jog wheels, midi/sample buttons

I loved the S4 but think it may be over kill, lots of channels probably works best with TTs and CDJS

so whats the next best thing ladies?

cheers

what about to ask that ^

check out the Xone DX man, big rival to the S4

$800 I reckon

definitely need something with jog wheels to avoid the need for CDJs

I like to have the ability to drop a number of samples in and some decent effects (this may come down to software though?)

4 channels seems like a bit of overkill though no?

those big ass cue? buttons on the DX look like something i could get into

a lot of the new breed of controller have 4 channel faders, all have jog wheels as far as I know.

You dont have to add cdjs or tts to them.

It's just not worth the manufacturers making them with less channels until you reach the budget options like the numark mixtrack pro.

Quick bit research and I see what ya mean, all the better controllers have the 4channels as standard

I think im leaning towards the S4...

From what i gather, main top end controllers to choose from:

NI S4

Pioneer DDJ-S1 (and T1) - good if you want a layout similar to CDJs

Numark NS6 - foolish can give you more advice on this one

Denon DN-MC6000

Allen & Heath Xone DX

Check out this thread - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7247

Capfive ended up buying the Denon. Looking a bit over 800 for these though

Seriously, consider that xone that jaz posted to my link in buy and sell

comes with the xone ($1200) and that bag ($249) for only $600!

'EXCELLENT CONDITION THO SOME LOOSE CHANNEL FADERS' really cant be fucked dealing with possible fixes in future. plus its an ugly looking unit.

also, ive done serato. not a fan of the layout of the on-screen controls and crate sorting system

seriously considering the S2 at the moment, looks like the scaled back kind of thing I was looking for
