Went back to the local open decks night again last night and had another spin. Made sure my tunes were a bit more organised and managed to play a pretty tight deep house set. The venue was pretty empty, but a guess that's what you get at 7:30PM on a Monday. The guys behind the bar commented on how much more confident I was this time around, and said to come back in a few weeks time when their marketing guy is back to talk about a Friday night residency trial.

I've been playing long enough that I should be able to beatmatch using a gumboot and a hat. Ah well, it's all experience I guess!

Bump. Went along to an open decks night last night and played some tunes. Rocked up about 15 mins before I was due to start and the bartender gave a free pint. Went over to the booth, and was a bit nervous to see a setup consisting of 1 x CDJ 350, 1 x CDJ 200 and a seriously thrashed DJM 700. Went about my set as per usual, picking random deep house tracks on the fly. Seriously trainwrecked a couple, but had a few really smooth blends as well. Once I finished the guys said it wasn't too bad, and encouraged me to come back in on a weekly basis to gain some more experience which I suppose is a good thing!
