FFS IF this comp & thread were to be organised and run WITHOUT the busy ADJF staff, it would be nice to actually keep on topic and try and fight the urge to ask stupid non productive questions. This is no doubt why staff feel the need to moderate everything... We can organise and execute this comp on our own terms and rules with great achievement. Also. Thread is NOT off topic. When it comes to new DJs on on a dj forum doing thier best and putting thier mixes out for productive criticism. Things like Dolan awards and what not is just stupid. Come on guys...

Ableton is hugely popular at the moment. my advice, just try them all out and see what you really like. not what everyone is talking about at the moment. See what seems natural for what you want to do. because there are.. a lot of good mash up artist on Ableton & FL & etc. a lot of good producers on both DAW's too.

^ Acid is a good idea. imo, FL is actually really easy to use as a beginner if you want it for mashups and stuff. Its like a lot of DAW's though. They cater for very basic use and very advanced use. Maybe Just try a few demos of all of em Boss101, see which one feels right.

I've used Mashup. Didn't really like it personally. I use FL Studio. It can do everything Mashup can and more much more. Granted, Mashup is cheaper.

I have a few mixes that after I hear them I am fully charged and ready to go. Same goes for tracks if im feeling flat in production. Lucky they always seem to work tho...
