Cheers. Everything i learnt and know has been off this site, so i should be thanking everyone on here

yer that's unforunate man, hopefully he will still book you for some future gigs, especially if you know him

Last night = best gig to date 7:30 - arrive at club to set up gear, the dj from the night before said one of the xlr to rca cables was broken and took it with them, and manager didn't get another one organised for me as he didn't know what they were called, so there is only one cable there. Ring a few musician mates and drive around until i find some that will fit. 9:00 - finally find some cables and finish hooking up my decks and test (had to take my own decks to le club). Go to a mates where they are all having drinks before heading out. 10:15 - Drive mates and drop them at the pub, then head down the road to the club ready for a 10:30 start 10:30 - less than 10 people here for opening, so start playing prog and people are just sitting around tapping there feet, few go out the back to have a smoke etc. 11:30 - place is starting to get more people in here, group of ladies here for a b'day keep asking for show me love, and thought there was enough people there for them to want to start dancing, so i drop a mashup of it. Nek minute, 20-30 wahels come out of nowhere and everyone is on the d-floor 12:30 - place is now packed, dropping some hits and some classics. Spitfire's pump it up mashup went down awesome, so if you see this spitfire, killer tune 1:00 - realise there is only an hour left and so many tunes i want to drop throughout the night, so enter boss mode, bring in songs every 1:30-2 mins, keeping the floor on their toes. Start playing some house and electro that isn't top 40, as well as some tracks that they would still know. Everyone was lapping it up. 1:50 - Manager comes up, 5 mins playing time left, so drop a flux pavilion 130-70bpm edit of kanye+jay-z, then mix that into the levels (skrillex remix) for my final track, and it went nuts. 2:00 - pack up, heaps of people are coming up and complimenting my mixing, texting and messaging on facebook. One random who was there facebooked me asking to do his 21st which isn't til next april so that was pretty cool 2:15 - have a chat to le manager, tells me the place was at max capacity (280 people) right til the end of the night. Which for a town of only around 7k is really good for this place. He then says they have managed second biggest night ever on record, so he was stoked about how well it went, especially for my first time there. Manager is getting in contact with me on monday to book me for some more dates. Stoked about how well it all went

Welcome bro, you've come to the right place. Everything I have learned has been through this site

Yer sounds like the night was set up for failure with broken pool tables etc. But as a DJ your always going to experience a dud night sometime in your career man, last weekend where i was playing there was a big fight early in the night and everyone left, wasn't my fault but night turned out shit because of it. So just gotta roll with it, tell the manager to get the pool tables and shit fixed, and next time can pretty much guarantee it will be a better night.

I assume it would be the same on 350s too

In recordbox, you can set category and sort options. I can get the categories to show on my cdj fine, but today i realised i wasn't using the sort options. Its supposed to be able to sort what order the tracks in a category are in by pressing the menu button while in the category. Have seen videos on youtube showing this, but they are all using CDJ 900 / 2000, and none of this feature working on the 850's. Had a search and can't find anything specific to CDJ 850's on the interwebs, so can anybody shed some light on this? Maybe Jaz can help me? Cheers

I would love to have everything in lossless, but can't afford to with the amount of music i have

I don't play 192 mp3 files. If its only 192 on Djcity and you really want that specific track, i'd suggest hitting up beatport and spending a dollar or two on it. Otherwise wait, and they may update the track down the track have it as 320

It's only about 4-500mb for logic itself, All the extra content (19gb worth) is optional in-app download after you get logic, so you just DL the program, then only dl the extra content that you will use i guess

UPDATE: Gone live in mac app store, much cheaper - $209.99 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/logic-pr ... 8486?mt=12 Also, mainstage 2 is being sold separately - $31.99 Much cheaper, now no excuse to get into logic if you had been contemplating its purchase
-
If you were looking at purchasing logic, you may want to jump in to get a boxed version if you don't have good internet to download it, or hold out because it will most likely be cheaper on the app store. Taken from: http://www.macrumors.com/2011/12/08/log ... continued/ Apple today issued a notice to resellers announcing that it has discontinued the boxed versions of its Logic Studio and Logic Express audio software packages effectively immediately, also announcing that the Logic Pro 9 and MainStage 2 components will be moving to the Mac App Store for distribution. It does not appear that Apple will be offering the Soundtrack Pro 3 component of Logic Studio via the Mac App Store. A report from early September had claimed that Apple was finishing up work on Logic Pro X. The report also indicated that Soundtrack Pro would be discontinued as part of the update as it was with Final Cut update to Final Cut Pro X. Today's notice to resellers specifically refers to "new" Logic Pro 9 and MainStage 2 coming to the Mac App Store, but it seems odd that Apple would simply move those apps to the Mac App Store while discontinuing Logic Express and Soundtrack Pro and without releasing more substantial updates to Logic Pro and MainStage to address the reworked packages. Pricing for the Mac App Store versions of Logic Pro and MainStage remains unknown, but it seems reasonable to speculate that they may see a significant reduction from the current $499 Logic Studio price given Apple's price drops on its Final Cut Pro software when it moved to the Mac App Store and the discontinuation of Logic Express ($199).

Not everything they have is in 320, its not often but sometimes they don't have it available in 320, so that's all they can post at the time. Later down the track when they get a higher quality version they may update it to a 320 version

Yer its called crossover, they are using that as a base for this, and repackaging it/ customizing it specifically for FL, embedding it in the installer. Wine and crossover aren't too stable though. Tested myself with some 'fully supported' programs, didnt work too well.
