hey man, i work in venues, and you dont need any form of liquor license to pay out the bar tab and give drink cards to your friends... just need to organise it with the manager and say, every person is entitled to x ammount of dollars and i want them to have cards blah... tell them you will be supplying your own music. but some venues do have sound restrictions so it is best to ask them give us a yell if you need anything else

Sorry what? I agree he went on a bit too much about SHM but his initial point was valid. Sneak was DJ'n and putting out tunes a good decade before these whales. He's a total legendary DJ in the house scene and to still be doing it to this day is obviously pretty damn successful. Being non-commercial doesn't mean the same as being un-successful. The whale also mixes off of three decks. no hassles. Read a quote the other day when one of SHM was comparing them to the beatles and it said something to the effect of there's 6 hands ad 4 CDJ's when they 'perform'. WOW. 4 CDJ's between 3 people. They must be so skilled..... Compare to that to a real DJ collective like X-Press 2 who are made up of 3 people. They DJ with 6 decks and 3 mixers. Makes sense for 3 DJ's. the whole point to shm was COLLECTIVE PRODUCTION, not mixing.. enthusiasts wanted to see them live, so they threw together a way of entertaining their fans...

IMO hot cues beat hot loops hands down, so much more useful, I have never seen someone use hot cues on 2000's for anything BUT a makeshift drum machine. Baaack on topic Sometimes I have found I haven't been able to use the master cause the master volume isn't up high enough (My audio volume is controlled by my mixer, not my amp) Edit: you beat me to it Sol... purposely contradicting yourself? i know i tend to use my hot cues for lining up tracks and jumping to different parts of songs
