  1. There's a difference between breaking through and selling your soul.
  2. anything on that site is always golden.... I agree with everything in there Dunno about this though...
  3. http://www.macmkvconverter.com/
  4. I'm sure you could probably search for a cheaper version of that cable....
  5. it's the thunderbolt port. you need this... http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1824 ... MI_Adapter
  6. that look spretty good, Got 4 extra drum pads over that novation, however, you can pick up the 25 key novation for half that price.
  7. Like I said I dunno how it works in FL but ableton you just have to switch to MIDI learn mode then click whatever parameter you want to control and then press whatever button/fader/knob you want to control it with. Couldn't get much easier. Whats it like of FL? As for the other thing you found there... what make is it? OP was looking for a keyboard so the lack of keys doesn't suit.
  8. With ableton, Logic etc it has an auto map function. Not sure if it has the same for FL. You can MIDI map anything you want to it though so I'd say you could use it with FL. I don't use Fl so I'm not sure how difficult/easy the MIDI mapping is. I do know it's damn easy in Ableton. I don't know if such a thing exists.
  9. Just get this.... http://www.novationmusic.com/products/m ... s/sl_mkii/
  10. pretty much every house/techno DJ in Germany uses turntables.... and thats pretty much the epicentre of house/techno these days.
  11. i think that's a personal preference. I don't have a particular need for sound isolation... only for finding my cue point really. when I'm mixing i only half cover one ear with my can so I mainly listen to the booth monitors. Sennheiser's do have pretty good isolation anyway....
  12. ...and lighter... and made from fully replaceable parts... and have a greater frequency response.... etc. I would never use anything else.
  13. ah right, well have you tried that iSquint that Spitfire mentioned?
  14. that looks sweet. i want one.
  15. ^^ this. I think I've only ever had 1 file that wouldn't play in VLC.
  16. thats only one track. click the link
  17. No probs. pretty handy program that switch.
  18. On the edit window with the clip selected... I assume this is an audio clip we're working with?... In the waveform window at the bottom, Below the bar numbers, there are two arrows. One is part of a bar which sets your loop area and the free moving one below that sets the start point of the loop. So if you have a 1 bar loop and move the bottom arrow to bar mark 1.12 for instance, thats where your loop will start from. Does that make sense and/or help?
  19. if you search 'beatmaking in garageband' on youtube there are plenty of video's there to check out.
  20. cheap knockoffs are cheap for a reason......
  21. Just noticed they announced anew model, AT-LP1240-USB , on the 6th Feb. There's an article that actually gives some spec however they are $530 each so i'm sure you could get something better for that money. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blog/2 ... -turntable
  22. just googled them and on their website they only have a USB table for converting your files to digital so I'd say no they don't make good TT's. EDIT: this opinionis based on the fact thats only table is marketed as a converter. i don't care if it say's it's good for DJ's....... No self respecting turntable would be branded a 'vinyl to itunes' converter.
  23. who?
  24. ah right, you need a controller for DJ'ing purposes... I'd go for a Korg Zero 8 or a Vestax VCM-600.
