If you really want to learn it your gonna have to put the effort in. I don't use FL so I can't help. All I know is I've been using ableton for a year so now and I'm still learning new stuff all the time. You can't expect to open any production software and be able to use it straight off the bat.
It's not actually. The Kaossilator is a Dynamic Phase Synthesizer. You can make small loops and layer a few sounds together but you'll need some software to records into. You couldn't produce an entire track with only a Kaossilator. You can get some nice sounds out of it though.
There's more to being a DJ than just being able to play tunes. Every man and his dog thinks they're a DJ. I've never seen anyone use a controller in a club besides Ritchie Hawtin but he's using ableton with 2 laptops running and all sorts of shit going on. Never anything like an S1 or that though. It's either vinyl or CDJ's with or without the use of Traktor/Serato
I quite like rotary mixers but wouldn't bother buying one. I mix using the EQ's anyway so the channel of the track i'm bringing in will be open. EQ'ing works for long transitions.
A few deep house tracks. Any feedback, comments or criticism welcome. http://soundcloud.com/russellventilla/russell-ventilla-solo-un-poco http://soundcloud.com/russellventilla/untitled-13 http://soundcloud.com/russellventilla/russell-ventilla-such-a
