  1. 10,000,000 user profiles but certainly not near as many contributers. There's a shit load of blank profiles on soundcloud. They should have kept the forum going.
  2. EDIT. oops... i read some shit wrong.
  3. maybe the internet will collapse and we'll all go back to doing stuff outside.
  4. Or buy a mac and never have any of these problems.... 6 years and counting for my 13" macbook. Still runs sweet.
  5. I sampled him too when I first watched the video. lots of stuff you can get out of it.
  6. Yeah i tend to only buy new tracks on vinyl if its a vinyl only release. save a bit of cash. these days i do prefer digging for older material. I found one record shop in Perth when I was there briefly that i will be visiting for sure for a good dig once i've got a house sorted.
  7. man, if i was settled over here i'd be intersted in the Mackie desk.
  8. Juno postage used to be nothing really as they were only a few hunderd miles donw the road. Even at that i used to go into a local record shop in Glasgow (will need to see what their postage is like) as I preferred the face to face realness of a shop. Reckon i'll prob spend most of my time trawlling discogs for older hidden/forgotten about gems. A shop to buy some new shit would be nice though.
  9. Thats what I was getting at.
  10. this is why a lot of people started using mixcould instead for as they don't have the anti-copyright stance.
  11. none of those have any house records?
  12. well soundcloud already have a copyright policy however it's up to the labels to let them know if they want tracks/mixes removed that infringe copyright laws. I know defected apply this right.... I think when it comes to electronic music we'll be ok as most stuff is from small independent labels that need people using their tracks to help promote material. It's the commercial stuff that'll cause people bother.
  13. discogs.com basically its got a plethora of records, cd, mp3..... music. Can find all sorts of shit on there. Probably the best site on the net for buying vinyl. Especially older stuff. EDIT. worldwide. it's people selling their shit privately. like an ebay for music. only no auction
  14. This is a good question for me too actually. I know a lot of european site but like you say postage will be a bomb. Any Australian sites would be good. You should get in about discogs.
  15. got a link to this information. Anything I can find say's it's targeting sites that facilitate/promote the use of copyright infringed material. I've not read anything to the effect of regular punter going to jail for posting a mix.
  16. I don't know of any other sample thats be used to create entire genre's and sub-genres of music so I'd say it's in with a pretty good shout of that title. Think it first appeared (other than as the B-Side on the origin release) on this record aimed at hip hop dj's/producers so i'd imagine trying to find who first cut up the sample would be pretty impossible. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Ultimate ... ase/176831
  17. you didnt undersell that at all was really interesting cheers for sharing There was no other way to describe it. That video really opened my eyes to the whole development of hip hop and the creation of jungle, DnB etc....
  18. oh yeah....
  19. Don't know if i'd class the pendulum track as chill out. don't know if i'd class any DnB as chill out. i guess your looking for DnB from the deeper end of the spectrum.. some you should have in your collection Pretty much anything by LTJ Bukem: My personal favourite: if anyone doesn't have this track there's something up there... just listen to anything by these guys and then dig deeper from there.
  20. Some/all of you may have seen this but it's fantastically interesting.
  21. Speaking of samples... Really interesting video on youtube about the amen break. . Sure I have it my fans from way back... will post in it own thread though as its awesome and deserves it own place.
  22. Yeah I think its a case of they have used the samples of the actual original (in this case Snap) to make their 'original' track... which has then been remixed.
  23. So what exactly are you wanting to do? wax lyrical? or just talk shit to the punters? i think you should wax lyrical... like that flight attendant that someone posted recently...
  24. hahahahahaha. def a good place to start. =D>
