  1. We’ve been taken aback by Kattison’s juicy, sun-drenched summer cut ‘Up & Down’ – and now it’s been given the remix treatment by Zed Bias. Bias drenches the original’s anthemic parts, namely the vocals, with plenty of fizzing sub-frequencies, scittish percussion work, and then finishes it off with a throbbing, rotund bassline for a proper club refix. Speaking about the original, Kattison said: “The record happened so naturally: it was probably made in the quickest time I can ever remember making a track. “I wanted to create something funky, disco-y, but also something emotive. I tried not to listen to any other tracks that day because I wanted something that was like nothing else out at the time.” Be sure to check out the new video for the original, too. Filmed in Barcelona, with archive footage provided by director Johnny Morgue, the music video for ‘UP and Down’ evokes the nostalgia associated with that first, perfect summer holiday away – something we can all relate to. 2. Escape 2016 is about to get a whole lot better. Virtual reality is a booming technology. Insomniac Events has always been on the cutting edge of technology. So it was just a matter of time until Insomniac introduced VR to the festival experience. This October, you will be able to “teleport” between two stages as well as relive past festivals in immersive 360 degree video. How cool is that! You will be able to experience a new level of interactivity where you can control elements of your very own lightshow. Headliners will have the opportunity to experience the VR activation with locations in both General Admission and VIP at Escape: Psycho Circus 2016. Each of these stations will consist of HTC’s Vive VR system, high-end gaming PCs powered by NVIDIA, and V-Moda Headphones, transporting fans into another dimension. Each of the two featured stages, Slaughterhouse and Ghouls’ Graveyard, will be equipped with Venue Interactive’s 360-degree cameras to capture live performances, situating VR users right next to their favorite artists as they perform in real-time. For those looking to take a break but never miss out, this VR activation will allow users to be everywhere at once beyond the realm of imagination. Escape: Psycho Circus will feature a haunting spectacle of hair-raising sets, nightmarish décor, circus amusements, creepy costumed characters, and an array of devilish delights. More than 60 dance music acts will perform across four elaborately designed stages including heavy hitters like Kaskade, The Chainsmokers, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, and more. This year’s event will also feature the unveiling of the largest interactive haunted house to ever appear at the festival. Also a massive maze-like experience will take attendees on a journey through six years of Escape’s frightening dimensions and sinister storylines. Weekend passes for this 18+ event are on sale now. Two-day general admission and VIP passes (21 and over) start at $199 and $328, respectively, before service fees. Single day tickets are also available. Additional ticketing information is available at EscapeHalloween.com/tickets/. -Jared The post Insomniac To Debut Virtual Reality Experience At Escape 2016 appeared first on EDM Maniac. Source

  16. Rumours of a Daft Punk tour happening next year might actually be true. Now hear us out: this week an eagle-eyed Redditor found a website called Alive2017.com. But it gets better, in the source code of the website there’s a boat load of clues to what might be the outline of a Daft Punk tour, including coordinates to eight cities, including Idio (Coachella), London, Tokyo etc. Then there’s some more coordinates, but there not for Earth but instead the Andromeda galaxy. And the source code finishes with “Shep Logged Out”, and Shep was of course a character in Daft Punk’s animated film, Intersteller 555. Then there’s the website’s logo, a simple typeface spelling out Alive. Look closely though and there’s some numbers, which has been suggested by some is a countdown timer that ends at the end of the month, October 27 to be precise. Now none of this is particularly conclusive, and it does reek of a really clever hoax – but just imagine if it is indeed true. We’ll obviously keep you updated once the timer ends on October 27, where we’ll either know whether it’s true or whether we’ve been trolled. 21. Mr Oizo’s new album, ‘All Wet’, has been given the video treatment by Quentin Dupieux ahead of its release tomorrow – and it’s just about the zaniest thing you’ll watch today. Previewing the majority of the album’s tracks, Flat Eric features in the video alongside a Spitting Image-style puppet of Donald Trump, which is aptly soundtracked by Oizo’s ‘End of the World’ collaboration alongside Skrillex. Elsewhere, there’s a cameo from FlyLo too, who is sporting a ludicrously over-the-top long-haired wig as a fake Skrillex. Speaking about the video, Dupieux said: “I need to make all these random ideas work together and create some logic inside the random. Collecting ideas in the air, like Donald Trump. There’s no comment on him- I don’t give a shit-this is just pure nonsense, joy, and fun.” Mr Oizo’s new album ‘All Wet’ is released tomorrow via Ed Banger Records. https://EdBanger.lnk.to/MrOizoAWet The post Mr Oizo previews his new album in oddball video that features a Donald Trump puppet appeared first on Harder Blogger Faster.
