  1. The good life hey lol Yeah I got it all sussed. I got some fine tuning to do but it works
  2. LabRat

    TOTD?

I still dig this tune! I also enjoy the producers twitter rants
  3. I may have some floating around. There isn't really a lot of that ghetto skrillex kinda drop. Botnek does some stupid shit lol Complextro is still around which will be the closest thing to it. I use to get a lot off Big Fish Recordings and Bazooka (2 off the top of my head). I'm not sure what they're doing now but they might have some complextro/electro stuff still. Unfortunately everyone's making this mindless, epic drop stuff which the toddlers love so it's all getting kinda bland
  4. Yeah I went through all that. I've got it all working now. I just decided to uninstall traktor and the drivers and start again. It's fixed it all now but as a consequence my libraries are gone. At least it worked first shot after that Cheers Mitch
  5. so this is being a bitch (as predicted). does anyone know why i wouldn't have timecode settings in my preferences? i'm getting a signal through my audio 8 but no timecode signal because there's no where to set it up
  6. not this time lol it's the meet all over again. where's eggs!?!
  7. New bits and bobs. I'm gonna try set up my time code tomorrow. From last years experience with ox I'm preparing myself for an all day battle lol
  8. Welcome mate! There was a thread a while ago with places we get music from. The common ones were beatport, iTunes and tracksource (can't remember how it's spelt). We can suggest labels once you've knuckled down what you're into. Piracy isn't welcomed here so you won't get some sneaky back door sites. As for picking your style, I don't believe there's a rush for it when you're learning the basics. If you can mix all your favourite songs together from different genres the you've got your best matching down to a tee, which is the main thing
  9. That was cool man. Your gopro quality is so much cleaner than mine. Gopro gave me 3 shit ones
  10. i just want to add to this thread with a video that hit me pretty hard. the attitude this guy has is amazing and i feel it's worth a watch for all of us. most of us know about M4SONIC and his launch pad videos, i personally wasn't aware that he's an aussie boy! i've been going through a rut again and have no motivation to do anything right now, and i keep blaming the industry for it. after watching this, i've become bullshit inspired (for lack of better words) to get back on my digital path and get my live set prep back on track. hopefully this video inspires some of you guys to not only think outside the box, but to tear those walls apart!
  11. i've used it a few times. as bland as this may sound, it falls in between the technics and the stantons. it has more torque than the techs but less torque than the stantons. that's basically the short story lol it comes down to what you prefer at the end of the day. i like the pioneers better than the technics
  12. Go the Stanton's mate
  13. Bummer. Good luck with the sale
  14. It's not a bad mic. I've had it since I was 16 and it does the job lol
  15. Finally I'm able to bring my mix out of retirement (no more sing star mic! lol). I've been really lazy with this but I got my new soundcard and now finally I've got a little desk stand. Time to start sampling real life sounds and recording my own voice. Might get some auto tune on and sing a song
  16. That's not as intense as I thought it would be. Looks cool as though
  17. oh my god. choons m8
  18. yes to every second of this track
  19. Cool cool. I'll have a flick through my indie dance collection tomorrow and share some choons
  20. So we post tunes we wanna play in here and then we all mix these tunes or we do our own mixes? (Bit new to these little mix comps)

  22. so 2014 is coming to an end (which is bullshit) so we're gonna start seeing the best of this and the best of that, the most memorable moments etc etc so below are a few categories for Your best of 2014. there's no need to stop at 1 for each. have a top 5 under each category if you like. i have to go through my collection a bit and work it all out because there's been some cool shit over the last year and it's gonna be tricky to narrow it all down lol i thought this could be fun. feel free to post up links to sc etc Artist(s) Remixer(s) Original Song(s) Remix(es) EP(s) Label(s)
  23. When mixing house music you're reference is the kick because it's consistent and dominant. Once the kicks are matched the whole track is lined up. When mixing drum and bass you're reference point is the snare. It's not often in drum and bass you'll beat match the kick because it's too inconsistent. The snares usually land on the 2 and the 4. Some tracks are fancy but there will always be a snare on the 4. Keep the practise up and you'll get it
  24. just got around to listening to this. sorry i took my sweet ass time with it lol loving the tunes man. it does scream summer
