i think the one i got a month or 2 ago back is really good for $699 dell inspiron 15r SE. light, easily powerful enough for uni work. got great media specs for when you're bored. also had no probs with it at all. its actually bit of a beast for the price. just say'n.

Youtube is a really good source of tutorials if you have picked Traktor. (or anything really) from basic to in depth. there is also http://www.traktorbible.com/ which can be super helpful. i hope it all goes well with it dude, ADJF is always here to help you out mitch made some good points too worth considering.

there is also Serato. you should check out that as well. i dont know how much it cost, but def give the demo a try. Its kinda like Virtual DJ, but much better. a lot of pro's out there swear by it

well, Virtual DJ is going to $285 AUD at the moment. Its ok in my opinion. Personally I prefer Native Instruments Traktor 2.5 witch goes for $85 AUD. but, i would say, download the demo's of both. play around and see what you like if its pure hobby, there is a big diff between $285 and $85. (the NI option also gives you some left over coin to buy something like an entry level MIDI controller if you really start to enjoy it)
