would even creating a mashup be a way to start getting around the software? It would again be easier than a remix i imagine?. But then again i don't have much experience working with DAWs yet, its mostly what i've researched and read myself..

Welcome bro, feel free to ask any questions, good bunch of people here btw, nicely played.

HDMI or DVI would be the best way to go IMO. If you get the right video card for the computer, the HDMI output will also output the sound to the tv as well, so you can easily use the tv speakers or sound system that is hooked up to the tv. It's only one less connection but it does save having to change both the tv channel and your sound system channel when you want to switch from tv to computer

I started out on a cheap controller to see if i enjoyed it before i invested big bucks into CDJs.. It was a good decision for me as I learnt the ropes on the cheap equipment then progressed onto the proper stuff and knew i would use it and keep at it. But i agree with cupe the arrows could be double ended for all except the beginner ones.

Traktor itself won't. Haven't used the program eggs mentioned myself, but i know the mixed in key program - its fairly popular as not only finding the song key, the camelot chart (which is easy to memorise) makes it very easy to know which keys complement each other as well. And It will add the key information to the song tags, which will be visible in traktor. have a read of their site, it explains how their system works, and it will all make more sense
-
It isn't hard to mix in key on the fly. You just need to label your songs with what key they are in, and then you use master tempo (either on CDJs or in traktor/serato) so the song key stays the same when you move the pitch slider.

Yes, If you check out info on the MIK site it has details on the % increases/decreases to go up/down semitones and all of that sort of stuff. Can't remember the exact % to go up one semitone (4 or 8% ??), but the next key up is +7 on the camelot wheel. Tbh i don't like pitching a track 8% anyway, as it sounds to different as to what it was written to sound like. Too slow/fast compared to the original, which is what people are used to. So that's why you use master tempo to beatmatch and retain original song key. So then it makes it easy to choose song selection wisely so the keys complement each other, and also similar BPMs, so that you won't have to pitch up/down too much (+/-3% tops). that's my opinion anyway

Check out the program mixed in key. It tells you the song key in the form of a number (1-12) and a letter (A or which is minor or major. And then there is techniques for mixing between keys, check out their site.

what eggs said is right, he definately isn't the first to run into problems with used gear. However also a number of us did say to be cautious about buying used headphones. You have to be on your game when buying used stuff, otherwise your going to get dudded time and time again. To me it sounds as if the guy knew something was wrong/about to go wrong, and flogged em off while they were still worth something.
