Thanks heaps for those links foolish, rep to you my friend I'll get onto those tracks tomorrow

I'm sure i got mambo no. 5 in there somewhere but yer love shack, nutbush and that old kinda stuff is just what i need to get. They are fail proof choices really. I couldn't think of the names, but that short list has got me remembering them lol. Yer i thought about the radio edit thing, ive put them in where i had them. However last week they had the formal with yr 9-12 and they had explicit versions of everything which teachers and parents didn't care about.. DJcity should have the rest in clean edits i'll try get all that done anyway, just to be safe. Thanks for these lists guys

True, however I'm gonna keep it there anyway. It's in a separate playlist so i probably won't play it unless i absolutely have to. Trying to avoid it while still keeping them happy, so it at least looks like i made an effort to put what the teachers said in so i don't look like a jerk who doesn't listen.

if time machine is on automatic, it backs up every hour, but obviously only if the external hdd you backup to is plugged in. So its possible, but this relies on: a) you backup the hdd was plugged in c) the external hdd is big enough to keep copies far enough back to what you want worth a shot though

The only reason I put the last lot there is coz the teachers and shit said to have some 80s on hand in case they want it.. And yer I didn't have the originals for alot of them, so I picked remixes that sound closest to the original. but if I have time I'll get the originals of some

Hey guys, So tomorrow night i'm doing our school disco for years 7-12, and have been putting together a rough pool of songs to pick from. And realised i don't think i have much 'disco' kinda stuff. The kids will be between 13-18 so its a kind of wide range group. I have asked around a bit they are pretty much all into commercial, cheesy stuff. But what can you get away with playing at a 'disco'? I've put together a rough list of what i have so far (a bunch of newer stuff with some 80's coz there will be some teachers and parents there i'm presuming). So i'm thinking I play mostly cheese and mix it up with some old stuff during the night somewhere, but what do you guys think? Tracks i've been randomly picking are below What I haven't got yet is all those old stuff you dance to like the macarena and all that crap, in case they want me to play it. Any suggestions as to how i can add or edit this list would be awesome guys

pretty sure you can't resize images in bbcode, you would have to save image, resize yourself and upload it again to tinypic or photobucket, etc.

I suck at most creative things, but i feel music (specifically DJing) is one creative outlet that I can do and I really enjoy. Good stress reliever, and takes your mind off things. Nothing else really matters but the moment when your right into it. I get a buzz even just in my bedroom pulling off a good mix, and also feel good when your playing for other people and they are dancing and enjoying the music that your playing for them. Money for something you enjoy is always a bonus too

Any chance of some pics of the djm 800?

Hey guys, made the decision that its time for CDJs. Looking at 850s or 900s (depending on whats going for price.) And a DJM 800, possibly a 700 (also depending on whats going for price.) A roadcase for this stuff would be needed as well. So if you/your mates wanna sell any of this stuff please let me know, or if you see any for sale if you could link me to it i'll love you forever Cheers guys

i agree with jaz. For the full size platter decks, they rank like this (IMO) : 2000s > 900s > 850s > 1000s > 800s

No. CDJ 1000 doesn't have USB port. Recordbox is only for CDJ 350, 850, 900 and 2000 Edit: wazza beat me to it

Try this On safari: To Empty Cache - open safari, click safari button at the top. Empty cache is in that menu To empty cookies: Open safari, click safari button, go to preferences. Click privacy tab. Here you can either just delete every cookie by clicking 'remove all website data' (which it sounds like you've never done it so this could be an idea) or you can just click details, search 'ausdjforums' and just remove the ausdjforums cookies. so i played at an rsl from 12-1 last night. Rock up, met the DJ there, pretty cool guy. But he didn't really beatmatch anything, just kept hitting hotcues to repeat the vocal drop until the first song ended. But people were diggin it anyway. So i get on at 12, (its my first time using CDJs), and dunno what happened but my beatmatching was just so shit compared to usual for the first couple songs, but i got a bit better as i went along. Probably partly coz i was nervous and the cdjs were similar but pitch faders were so different to use! But the dancefloor kept goin hard coz they were liking my song selection, so that was cool. DJ said he reckons i did good for my first time up there and for how long i'd been DJing, so thats cool. So what I learnt is that i needa get some CDJs, which i intend to purchase very soon

recordbox is your friend here. warning before i start - have never used them, but have researched it. What happens is you import the songs to recordbox, then it analyses them for id3 tags and does the bpm. then you can make playlists, categorise your songs, set cue points and a bunch of other things in the recordbox program, and export it directly to a usb or external hd from in the program. Then there is two ways to go. The two CDJ 900's can be linked together with an ethernet cable, so you only have one external hd, but both players can read it (eg external hd is in deck a, but deck a and b can access it).. Or you can export the songs to two external hd's and plug one in each deck. It puts the songs in one folder, and creates an extra folder with extra info on the song for the cdj's. Once the usbs are plugged in youll see why, because they have been analysed in recordbox, you can browse by song, artist, album, bpm, playlist etc. There is also a method for using your laptop without traktor, and doesn't involve touching any rca cables and stuff. You can connect the two cdj's to a network hub with ethernet cable, then plug your laptop into it. It creates a mini network, and you can load any song from in the recordbox program onto the cdj. Even though it still uses a laptop, it is easier to setup than traktor. Either way you will need to check out the recordbox software - http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/press ... xfree.html Hope this mess of writing helps
