  1. Nice helpful post here for those who aren't that theory based
  2. 25 minutes of kygo / thomas jack
  3. -Training: Has finished, was pretty straightforward. -Melb promo video has been filmed (was a late night), will probably be out on facebook next week. -1 Meeting left in a couple of weeks, then the final on August 16/17 As lame it it may sound, it is a business/competition. Essentially the more tickets I sell, the better set time I get. So I need all you Melbourne users to get amongst it to help me -Everyone else i've seen/spoken to is playing electro/melbourne/whatever you call that stuff, so my set will be unique at least. Will see how it goes
  4. Got the drill out and mounted some stuff

    TOTD?

    So much yes
  7. I can't remember exactly. Was somewhere between $80-100 Whereas I remember the control vinyl being $30 each
  8. Na oxy has scratch coz he has it all working now. I had to go into storedj coz it wasn't on their website. Apparently they only just got it in stock for the first time. It's about $20 more expensive as 2 control vinyl alone, but you get the cd control discs and a scratch pro 2 licence so you can actually use it
  9. Make sure you buy the scratch upgrade and not just the control vinyl. It's only like 20 bucks extra and it means you get the traktor scratch 2 software to go with it. If you've only been using the traktor midi controller you probably only have traktor pro 2 and not traktor scratch pro 2. I'll get links
  10. Some people use these but typically: -ableton: dj would bring their own laptop/soundcard/controllers and run an output from their gear into a channel on the club mixer. -serato/traktor: dj brings their own sound card + laptop and connects/disconnects it over 2 transitions Most djs just bring usbs/CDs and headphones
  11. Most places are using CDJ 2000s and a DJM800/850/900 nowadays. I take rekordbox'ed USBs out and play off those. Some have Technics 1200s as well, so in that case i'd pack some records too
  12. DJM puts out plenty loud enough to accommodate

  22. The main problem with the 350's is you only have 1 line when scrolling through tracks. Also the jog feels weird. That's why I went for the 850s - you get 3 lines when scrolling through tracks which is loads easier + similar enough to club equipment but without all the fancy stuff you don't really need when you're just prepping/messing around at home.
