  2. Yer i'm not keen on spending a heap atm coz I spent it all on the decks. I have an audio 6 I can borrow off someone, or might go down wazza's route of mixvibes considering I have a compatible soundcard. Ye the decks are amazing. Never selling these babies (ever).
  3. I'd recommend getting the A&H mixer with an SL2 if you want to use serato. The stock fader will be fine to at least learn a fair bit of scratching on
  4. Didn't know it was compatible! I'll need to look into how much the software and control vinyl costs. Do you know?
  5. Hey man, a few pointers: Probably wouldn't play all those tracks so close together in a small mix. The energy of them all is a fair bit different, so the mix goes from deep house to what is practically electro house by the end (all in only 8 minutes for this mix). I'd work on building a longer mix (around an hour is pretty good). Work on building the energy and creating a flow over the whole hour. Find a bunch of tunes that you like with a similar energy, and go from there. Also kind of building on top of the last point - you don't have to mix a new track in every 2 minutes, and with deeper songs it's easier to do much more gradual and longer transitions. Listen to some other deep house mixes, and you'll hear what i mean. Then practice, practice, practice
  6. Ye I didn't have a choice. Need bigger desk
  7. MK is dope. Nice post
  8. Plenty of people still play on vinyl. Barely any mobile DJs do, due to the large range of music required. Also a lot is not on vinyl. There are plenty of DJs in the underground house/techno scene that spin predominantly/only vinyl. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference - what you want to play, and where you want to play it. I personally like DJing without a laptop, but there is nothing wrong with doing so. There is also nothing stopping you using a combination of vinyl and DVS

  11. Long story short, purchased a couple of Technics. Wishing to either borrow or purchase a soundcard to use with vinyl DVS while i'm learning & don't have many records. If you can help me out hmu
  12. If it's a 3 yr warranty, Get your receipt and contact manufacturer direct
  13. Too slow I'm buying those
  14. That's exactly what I did when starting out mobile. Good tip
  15. Yer I bumped into a couple of them down there last weekend. Competition will be intense.
  16. If you want to do mobile gigs, you'll need to invest some money in PA speakers and lighting. The logitech system may pump at home, but once you put it in a mid sized room full of people it just doesn't cut it + doesn't look very professional. Another alternative (depending on your location) is to hire sound/lighting equipment from somewhere such as DJ Warehouse.

You said you got a 500m plan. If that is speed related (500mbps), it's possible you'll get faster on Ethernet. The speeds you're getting there is already twice as fast as the previous aus gov was aiming to be in 10 years time lol
  18. Was actually discussing hookie with someone on the weekend. Great example. Just found this interesting article on the subject too: http://doandroidsdance.com/features/dis ... /s/141810/
