  1. +rep tommy.
  2. "So, venue's is most peoples goals...." nope. My goal is just to earn enough money to continue the lifestyle I love without having to do too much of any work that makes me want to murder someone.
  3. so you are using cd players. you have a static build up in your mixer. and you've solved it by putting the static into your laptop. there is no earth on an rca cable. Obv I cant see your set up from here and cant be sure but if I had your rig I would be troubleshooting every individual unit, cable and adaptor until I discovered where this static was coming from. Then I would have it professionally fixed. That's just me tho.
  4. just updating: mitch's knowledge is good but unfortunately the traktor LE software that i got with this mixtrack doesnt allow me to import .tsi lol. Ok controller but get yer own software... also I found a nice .tsi where some clever boffin sorted it to use all four decks of traktor proper: there are loads of maps in this list in fact but chk which version of traktor they are set to work with as they dont work with traktor LE: http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/mapp ... spx?id=150
  5. haha, sounds good, I'll stick to my no holds barred/anything goes style tho.... plus of course i gotta work out skype or a visa 1st am looking into it tho mate.
  6. dont mention it / nobody reads what i post
  7. hahahaha eat my feedback: Hi Mark We just wanted to say a few things about the DJ you supplied us with for our wedding on the 6th August 2011. I know a few expletives and would like to use a wide array of them with regards to DJ Jim... (I won't though!) He was quite literally fantastic. From start to finish he was a true gent, discussing the music selections we'd sent through in advance, to make sure that he had the right idea about the atmosphere we wanted to create. He did not disappoint. Earlier in the proceedings he played a wide variety of music to suit most tastes, but always playing high quality music rather than the typical garbage you normally expect from a wedding DJ (no Village People or Jive Bunny in sight!). He then went on to indulge me (the groom) with an hour of quality old school house - all mixed to perfection! And the last 20 minutes of the evening was rounded off with a superb mix of 80's cheesy rock (Bon Jovi, Guns'n'Roses etc - which delighted everybody - especially the wife!). We are properly chuffed that we chose you guys over the multitude of other pretenders. And DJ Jim was just amazing! Thank you so much! Nev
  8. cheaaa bwoy. you done a little overdubbing on that or is that the fx working I can hear? liking it, wanna jam (i'm too daisy age to call it a battle bro )
  9. ^exactly: so either the vol setting is too high and the machine doesnt recognise there is music there, or pioneer have actually changed things so that auto cue will not work in "vinyl" mode...which seems odd. Unless i'm reading the manual wrong?
  10. V interesting... I didnt believe there could be a problem with Auto Cue on CDJs as it is such a straightforward function.... but having checked the manual it looks like they have changed certain parts of it. According to Page 11 of the manual lurker linked to the autocue will not work if the platter is set to "vinyl" furthermore it has a sub setting which chooses at what volume the auto cue will recognise sound and set a cue. Neither of these things have any effect to auto cue on my cdj1000 mkii as far as i know but you guys may want to experiment a bit...
  11. hahha, if i ever run for PM shoot me, I must have been brainwashed and am probably dangerous.
  12. ^Yer, that makes sense, and is what was happening to me. The PC tune up in conjunction with DSP Latency Checker was a headache and time-consuming but I found my issue. Hope you find yours mate. TBH tho: once I'd used wazza's links I learnt how many variables were at play with PC audio and then I bought a MAC. I still use my PC as Backup and for teaching work but there are so many drivers and other issues to remember to update regularly that I switched platform for gigs where I need 100% reliable for 5+hours.
  13. I thought someone elses was better, and I have the headphones already. Was in it for the fun. ^this 4 me too. garts vlad, njoi the cans mannn.. I have a thought for caps about the comp though: maybe if next comp was restricted to one or two transitions only so the whole mix was only 10 min we would get more people listening and more voters? I know it wouldn't show up the best DJ as DJing is all about creating a mood over time but it would be easier for people to find the time to create an entry, and much easier to listen to all entries and choose who to vote for.
  14. lol, between monkee magic and star wars I got all the religion i'll ever need
  15. postponed is better than cancelled ey. shame tho, foot in mouth moments are never good for the soul.
  16. hey awesome... long time no viddy buddy... good to c u again
  17. Out of interest who is picking the bands? If they get unreliable amatuerish bands you'll be fighting an uphill battle as a DJ to get people in. If it's getting busier now you are there maybe let the management now they can save money by paying you more for doing more but only having one band a night?
  18. I'll edit the 1st reply now too
  19. ^ lol, you and me off to the bar then hobberz?
  20. bloody hell.... it's gone, it was a post by wazza on tuning pc for audio and about the dsp latency checker. old forum topic: 5026. I've tried searching for it and cant find it!! That post was gold for PC users getting audio dropouts... can anyone find it?
  21. lol, me neither... i had to use search and then copied from posts referring to it... hang on, i'll search a bit deeper....
  22. yeah it was... couldnt find the thread so copied it from a post I made to it before: can one of you make that work for YSM? it's wazzas thread on pc optimisation
  23. ^old SOL: What you are thinking and planning is reasonable. Engagement is similar to wedding but less bull i.e. no throwing bouquet, bestmans speech, 1st dance to work round... So get ideas for the playlist from them, Start slow, mix it up later. For more info chk these threads: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4852 (sources posts are the gold) viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1755 (for things to be ready for) viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3809 (for songs that are likely to go down well, not all are gold tho!) Gandy: shame about that mates wedding mate. Thought you were gonna boss that and was waiting for a gig log.
  24. Sounds like audio dropouts due to increased CPU load... are you PC or MAC mate? if PC check all the details on optimising for audio courtesy of wazza: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=5026 It's a lengthy process but worthy... especially using the dsp latency checker to see when the cpu load spikes - this helped me work out my internal soundcard was causing problems every couple of hours even tho I was using an external card. If mac then you should still chk for updates to software, hardware updates, firmware updates etc as the manuals recommend. Plus on mac for audio it can be worth disabling airport, time machine, dashboard and closing all other applications just to be safe. hope that helps, if not please give more detail.
  25. I like the idea of this game, not least because I may learn some of the thousands of tunes I have on my HD! My agent dumped heaps of stuff for mobile work on me... todays shuffle is: sly and the family stone - if you want me to stay. i recognise it and have heard it out but wouldnt have been able to name it if i heard it without itunes telling me what it was lol. It's got one of those rare soul b-lines thats has been sampled loads and copied loads.
