Also: Full free versions are generally unreliable due to the fact they are cracked. Most DAW offer a trial version so you can see which suits you but then you'll need to choose and pay. No harm buying a lite version and paying more later to upgrade to full version if it is working for you.

wot cupe said. if you do like this sort of thing google/youtube jean michel jarre. he was doing city wide light shows in the '80s with no advertising. maybe add your own soundtrack if pioneering electronica isnt your thing tho.

ok sol, this is a big question and there are lots of variables at play so to help us get to the bottom of this please give us as much info as you can: first of all: does your computer meet minimum system requirements for the version of traktor you are using? next: what set up are you using? please list all units, especially: Is this a timecode rig? what soundcard are you using? is it all definitely wired up correctly? are any controllers involved, are you using the laptop keyboard for any control. have you done any midimapping changes? also: have you analysed the whole music library by importing it all to your traktor collection? I can only help if given full info but will be glad to offer what i know mate.

i had same issue YSM and never resolved it. Tried cue, cue play etc etc... It doesnt seem traktor has that function at all. In the end I would do as mitch suggested and map a hot cue at the start of each track. If I ever forgot to do that and I wanted to get back to the start of a song without physically rewinding I found the only way I could do it was to physically reload the song in that deck. Not at all like picking up the needle but thems the breax.

mitch, you r da man. so i was right: i have had a firmware update labelled this: Macbook Pro SMC Firmware Update 1.5 and Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.3 on 17/11/2011 then again exactly the same two again on 22/11/2011 and then again the EFI Firmware Update 2.3 on 29/11/2011 so now I know it's not me going mad and I really have been interrupted for more than the normal firmware updates... but why on earth would I receive the same update twice or three times? should I speak to the apple whales?

wow, wonder how much work they actually get booked at that rate. I have received equivalent for doing New years eve, celebrity party (where privacy is the key) or large corporate but not for normal wedding. I also note the link to the dedicated wedding site from the melbourne company isnt working.

Cheers wazza, I think serato allows midi mapping as standard tho? The problem with Itch is that because it is so locked into the hardware you get with it they dont allow any midi mapping at all! I did see a thread (poss on djtechtools) where someone was discussing mapping the laptop keyboard functions then mapping the keyboard keys to external midi hardware buttons and getting round it that way but it was a little beyond me. I'm still testing beta 2.1 so can wait around but once you update please rem this thread if you discover anything mate. Nice to hear from you again too, you get my emails?

if you really a perfectionist I guess you are aware you should walk before you should run. By this I mean investigate as much as you can before going and buying a load of top end eqpt. Check you have the ability to choose the sounds and build arrangements if you are producing. Check you have the ability to mix well and read the crowd before if you are going the DJ path. Then when you have more info at your disposal you can upgrade gear and polish it all safe in the knowledge you are not wasting your own time.

i thought something was happening but it turned out it was when I hadnt noticed that instead of saying my post had been submitted it came up saying "another new post has been submitted are you sure you still want to post yours?" or sumthin. Coz I just noticed the screen change I alwasy figured I'd submitted but in fact I just navigated away from page while it was still waiting for a response... sound possible?

WTF? Apple Software Update just insisted I plug in power cord to do yet another firmware update... That's 3 in about a fortnight... i'm starting to get worried why no one else seems to be needing to do these updates. Where on my machine can I discover what version firmware I have? Help/advice please?
