  1. Ns7 users have own forum at serato.com. On iphone cant link. You'll find it tho. Heaps of info specific to itch and ns7.
  2. for gigs: AKG 518 for sound quality/ studio reference/ chillin at home" beyer dynamic DT 150 but that's just me.
  3. Anyone who wants to know anything about DJing should go to this. Scratch perverts FTW.
  4. ^haha, wish it had been me, sounds exactly like my sort of manoeuvre wazza: do you get the sp6 sampler on the v7? If so I been rocking it a while on the NS6 and am dieing to find a way to get more midi control over it now. Any tips bro?
  5. yer traktor playlists are distinct to itunes playlists. You can view, choose tunes from and play tunes from itunes playlists but they are auto imported to traktor playlists which are better to use but a pain to keep updating. The easiest way to recognise how traktor doesnt work with itunes is because traktors' "cruise" function will not work on itunes playlists., only on traktor lists. It's shame really, itch updates each time
  6. does seem weird why someone would board out only the lowest few metres of a warehouse. I see they had wired plug sockets and fitted tidy skirting boards to it too... wtf? Idiot children mash stuff up for no reason though.
  7. lololol. alex gaudino had to get his sample from somewhere... This is the 21stC mix he did, was prob ok once or twice but some dick kept playing it after ibiza season and so like so many other disposable pieces of dancefloor filler it's been played to death and has crappy "risque" video to match. pants IMO.
  8. ^ rings a bell mate.... let me know if you dig it, I been running some added 808 kicks and looping bits of it in an effort to make my 1st own re-edit... today I have... oh no... destination calabria: alex gaudinwhale Ah well, proves two things: I dont lie about what comes up on the friday shuffle, and I have to work with children. best fred ever
  9. jaz: i had same concern about getting 13" apple as it felt like downgrade from 15" dell PC. Thing is apple have this back lit screen magic and better resolution so the screen is actually clearer and better even though smaller. Especially in nightclub conditions. Tru story bro.
  10. refurb site FTW. I've had 3 macs in my life and all have come from the refurb store. The wisest move is to spend your savings on applecare extended warranty then you have a rock unit. dont consider too long, they wont have many units and they'll get snapped up quick sharp.
  11. Leave a bag of silica gel on top of the unit whenever you aren't using it and keep one in the box whenever you transport it. silica gel is the little packet you get with most electronic eqpt when new, it says "do not eat" and/or "silica gel" on it. It will draw any moisture towards it and absorb it. It may be that the moisture was trapped inside during manufacture and that it wont come out but if you are lucky the unit will have a ventilation point that allows the moisture to leave the unit. Personal opinion: if it is working fine and you can see the screen no worries. If it is pissing you off use the warranty. Either way it could be a sign of more faults to come so I would def send for warranty repair before the warranty runs out (obv claiming the fault only just appeared if you have left it for months) if it isnt a condensation issue: fuknose.
  12. Hey Richo, this may not help as I was using a dif mixer, a PC and an external NI8 but in case it's of any use: I had this happen to me for a while too a bit ago. Each time I checked and double checked everything was wired up correctly (which you should do anyway) I also checked cross fader assigns on the mixer and in the software, channel routings for my NI8 etc etc... I never did find out what was causing it but after a while it just went away, I figured one update or another got rid of the issue. In the meantime all I could ever do to get it working correctly was turn it all off and on again and re boot in the correct order. The correct order for me was: Attach decks to NI8 to mixer etc but do not turn on. Boot computer, attach NI8 to computer, boot software, turn dex and mixer on. Test. It nearly always worked on a second reboot, but I never missed a gig coz of it. Just had to allow for time to reboot. Pain in the arse bro.
  13. this thread is fast becoming the first result on google if you type in "itunes playlist export" i use "file" then "print" coz then I can choose the option that suits. Choosing "song list" then "custom" lets me print exactly the columns I see on the itunes browser. Then I print and post, or when it asks you to confirm which printer you want it to print you can choose pdf and have it print to a file and email. But if you need them to add notes etc then eggs' excel is excellent.
  14. ok. and breathe... so they are a standard thing that have absolutely nothing to do with xlrs. and really wont save sol anytime at all. cool. thought i was missing a trick there sol: if you are trying to save time where xlr and IEC need to go to the same place: use cable ties to make looms as Spit suggested... if all you need is easier power sources for your lights go get a few of the hentai style triple ended IEC I linked to earlier
  15. I hate to be a bore but can anyone explain what piggy back cables are actually for? I mean what are the practical applications not including this idea of sols? I'm honestly so confused and am not sure such a thing exists here.
  16. good work fella. it's funny how many mobiles think loads of lights = good gig when it's prepping yourself in itunes to suit the expected crowd that can make all the difference.
  17. cheers spit. mitch i'm on 10.5.1, All updates done only through software update. And am only bovvered about my machine, the others are all stable. I only mentioned the other machines because it's due to them I am unsure which machines have had which firmware updates... How do I tell which firmware version I'm on? Hasn't anyone else had to update firmware recently?
  18. big up jaz. now begins the hard part: what do you play at midnight? you gonna sync those bells or wire a tv/online feed into your mixer? and which version of auld lang syne?
  19. pretty much what jaz said. resume is to show that you have history of being employed or educated throughout your life without any wierd gaps where you were just wasting away. This prooves you are a worker not a shirker. Travelling, running your own business (even if it failed) or volunteering count as reasonable activiities on a resume... getting welfare benefits and being maggot for a year does not. Resume should also show your qualifaication and expereicne relevant to the job. and include references (with contact details) which are people who he can call up who will say "oh yeah, I know vl-urker, he's reliable, polite, adaptable, works well under pressure etc etc" The more serious a position they hold the more their comments will mean. I have a doctor friend whose children I keep in the basement, he gives me good references
  20. Ez all. I'm currently in the middle of two different projects for local govt education agencies and have 5 macs of theirs plus my own... Recently I have had software update download and install firmware updates on some of these machines and not on others. Unfortunately I've been a bit blase about which have had what as I have just been trusting the software updater. I believe my machine has had two firmware updates in the last 3 weeks, but due to the reason above I am not 100% sure. Anyway: my itunes has started freezing at really odd moments. Always on start up but not everytime. Just wondered if anyone else was having issues with itunes freezing. Or had recently had firmware updates via their software updater, and whether anyone knew if these things could be related and how best to sort it out however it's been caused. mine is a macbook pro i5 running os X 10.6.8, Dunno how i find out what firmware I have so feel free to tell me cheers in advance ladies and gentlemen
  21. wise. I also know of these if this would solve the issue (which I still not sure i understand) http://www.maplin.co.uk/2m-3-way-iec-su ... ead-228747
  22. but if you piggy back xlrs like that you will be effectively mixing two audio signals wont you?
  23. lol, it's a case of "each to their own" but i fixed this to suit me...
  24. Been off this thread for a while. have we confirmed that sol has master tempo turned off yet? Eggs: nice description of relative and absolute, Sol: if you dont get it from that you know the drill: new thread for new question innit bro.
