  1. built up the crowd, played what they wanted and went pretty good. everyone else after pretty much played what they wanted / where ever they were thinking... and lost most of the crowd. tbh i didnt think i did well but after seeing the waves of crowds coming and going, think i did decent. i don't mean to sound like i know it all and i'm a "pro" (nor do i think i'm anything near it lol), they could mix... just not play and adjust for a crowd. anyway, thats my update haha thanks again guys
  2. i should also add. if you are wanting better cooling, look into cooling solutions for you parts. water cooling has come along way, CPU liquid cooling can now be done without needing to service any parts or liquid. Just install and run you may not need a new case... but hey... newer cases are sexy.
  3. the CoolerMaster HAF series are pretty decent (as HAF stands for high air flow lol). i have the HAF 922 and have had really good temps with it. you're looking around the 150 - 200 ish for a decent case. you can go cheaper but just look for something with a front, back and top fan.
  4. this pleases me will come if i can
  5. going to try and get a group together unfortunately, the skill aspect will be judged by a mystery man lol. half price RTD's with my name get a few people in haha. this is my first time using CDJ's in a club and haven't had much experience with them, so hoping the skill aspect goes well haha
  6. 11 on Friday man. yeah, gona try to stick to stuff that suits the time.
  7. Hey guys, I've made it to the final round of the local DJ comp in bendigo and looking for peoples wisdom and tips. just a bit nervious as its the only comp i've done haha. most of the people have just been pumping out bangers and melbourne tracks in most of there sets from opening to close. I playing opening this weekend and was gona go for some progressive and a few commercial tracks to kick off the night. Just wondering if anyone has any tips to stand out or words of wisdom?
  8. if only i had the money D: would get rid of my T1 for the S1.
  9. ^ this
  10. Well could be something like DJ Jakey D but yeah nicknames work. mine came from promoting at a club. few people remember me as "that party guy" as i got people cheap drinks, partied etc... could even be a play on ur middle name or something
  11. back when i was playing every sat at a place near me, always practice 2 - 3 times a week but yeah. might be a good idea to try and push myself to do a monthly mix or something.
  12. cheers for ideas. been getting new tracks and get motivated to mess around. Just need to set aside a few hours a week i guess and stick to it lol
  13. So yeah, i'm kinda been lazy and haven't done much practice in a while and pushing myself to do some and learn some new tricks. what do you do when you're in the slump, lazy or just cbf moods?
  14. great idea
  15. Last time it was only a 1 - 2 minute interview. I'm heading to it in melb again, will be interesting lol
  16. come on doubles!
  17. will have to update and check it out. i have a backup copy of traktor so could roll back anyway.
  18. sounds like they want to hear some songs that take people back as well as some semi retro hits 90's & 00's hits most likely. i used to have to play this sort of stuff depending on a ever changing crowd. i'd say mix it up with some pop.
  19. eargasim, <3 tricky tricky
  20. bought a DDJ T1 off here without traktor... so i ended up getting everything pretty cheap.
  21. not normally what i listen to but i've been listening for 10 minutes so far... nice work man.
