  2. Vocal Recording Technology Explore approaches and emerging innovations in vocal production, recording, and mixing. About this Course We are in the midst of an explosion of musical creativity as a result of technologies that allow you to record music using your laptop or tablet. Whether you are a singer, music producer, audio engineer, or just someone that likes to make good music with vocals, it is essential to have an understanding of vocal technologies for music production. Vocal Recording Technology provides students with insight into the voice itself, the recording environment, microphones, equalization, compressors, A-D-A conversion, the listening environment, human perception, natural widening concepts, artificial widening concepts, reverb, delay, and more. Grammy-award winning record producer, audio engineer, recording artist, and educator Prince Charles Alexander offers students a first-hand opportunity to learn the technologies behind vocal production, so that you can enhance your music productions with the most compelling and effective vocal tracks. 7. So since Soundcloud has done this gay shit of putting your tracks cover images behind the waveform, I can't easily get it. I use this image to promote your tracks across our social media network. To help me out (and basically help yourself out) can you post a link to the cover image (imgur is fine) on your posts? That way I can easily get at it to repost your shit. And if you have shitty cover images still, kill yourself or make better ones. ta
  8. He's on heaps of their other songs. Also Bullfrog is a jazzy trip hop style band with Kid Koala as the DJ
  9. There's a DJ in Linkin Park
  10. I was being facetious m8 And the smaller labels can setup their own soundcloud and get moola anyway. Seems like a smart idea. fuck the man
  11. But if that was implemented you'd be edging out the beloved record labels.
  12. Yea the point I was trying to make is you can't call a service shit for staying within the boundaries of what law requires.
  13. What in your opinion has made is shit since last year compared to now?
  14. I want the world to hear my sounds, but not for $16/month
  15. I literally cancelled my Pro account yesterday. It's all my fault
  16. Yep. 4D music is now a thing. Paul Oomen, an Orchestra composer, has teamed up with Ableton to create 4D sound. My tiny brain cannot even conceive of how this is possible, but apparently with 16 columns of speakers (each consisting of 3 speakers) and 9 subwoofers positioned on the floor, sounds coming from up to 57 channels can be heard in a real environment. You will also feel (obviously) and SEE the vibrating air from the music. This is a massive step to the future. We have things like the Naonext Crystal Ball which are small steps, but then we have the “giant leap for mankind.” The long term potential of 4D music is pretty much unknown. Potentially we could make music that is at different (currently unhearable) frequencies. Or you could stand in a room and be surrounded by music that you can actually see. Source

  18. The Netherlands honours Tiësto, Hardwell, Afrojack, Dash Berlin and Armin Van Buuren with new line of stamps As international as dance music has become, it’s hard to ignore the dominance of the Dutch when looking at today’s leading electronic artists. Five of today’s biggest EDM stars will return home later this month to celebrate their achievements at Amsterdam Dance Event, and the entire country has already begun preparations to join in the festivities. The Netherlands has gone one step further to demonstrate their pride and support for their DJ superstars and created a limited edition run of colorful post stamps featuring Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto, Dash Berlin, and Hardwell. The stamps will be available for sale in The Netherlands starting next Monday and can be used to mail up to 20 grams within the country.
  19. Brisbane isn't a city that you would typically associate as a creative hub for electronic music, but is the landscape changing in Australia? Hugh Foster, who's one of the brains behind The MET club in the Fortitude Valley and responsible for booking the likes Deadmau5, Dillon Francis, Carl Cox, Booka Shade, Gareth Emery and more in the past popped in to discuss a decision he has made. With the likes of UV Boi, FEKI, CLN, Joy, A Purple Heart and plenty more names popping up in the city over the last 12 months, we spoke to Hugh about his endeavour to fill a management niche in Brisbane with a boutique agency dubbed Revelry Agency. To gain further insight into his experience, Brisbane's rise and why he's entering the management game, here's what we chat about; SR - How did you start your career in music? H - I Initially started out as a resident dj at one of Canberra's longest running underground venues Lot 33. I then progressed into launching a club brand called Pang! with Mikah from The Aston Shuffle, I expanded my brand to Wollongong and held some high profile events with Steve Aoki, Bag Raiders, and Krafty Kuts to name a few. In 2010 i bought Trinity Bar in Canberra and quickly had to switch from promoter to owner/promoter. This was an exciting time and i was fortunate enough to book some of the biggest acts in the world in a 200 capacity intimate setting. The Revelry crew then made contact and then i moved to Brisbane to run all the entertainment for both The MET and GPO nightclubs. SR - What are three core skills you need to enter management? H - Professionalism / Driven to succeed / Industry Connections SR - Why have you started Revelry Management? H - There isn't really any artist agencies operating in Brisbane, so we have seen a opportunity to help young emerging Queensland artists get their foot in the door. We are focussing on overall personal development in addition to helping the artist's music be heard on a International scale. SR - You have 4 acts signed. Is there a style of music you aim to promote from your agency? H - We have four really solid acts signed to the agency covering a variety of genres. Noy/Jordan James is on the Trap/Future Bass tip, and Jordan Burns/Varcity are more on the Bassline House/Vocal House tip. I think its really important to have two acts acts on the agency that compliment each other in genre, and have already collaborated together on the production front. SR - Apart from Noy, Jordan Burns and Varcity, Jordan James, who are some other young guns you enjoy listening too? H - I am really excited about a bunch of young talents making waves in the Australian scene, after hosting Just A Gent in both Canberra and Brisbane i think this guy is going to be a absolute superstar. SR - Brisbane is fast becoming the next hot spot for new producers popping up. Why do you think this is? H - The scene here is absolutely blowing up, statistics show 1000 people are making the move to Brisbane each week from other various cities, this has had such an amazing impact on the clubbing scene. More young people are getting into djing/producing, and its creating an amazing breeding ground for young superstars. Source
