ADJF Beatport 'Top 10 House (June)' Mix Competition
eggssell replied to Cupe's topic in Competitions, Battles & Collabs
No other tracks else defeats purpose of top ten mixxx. Also id say stick to samples of these tracks (nothing saying you cant use same track multi times). And end of june is deadline -
i dont know about not appreciate but the last one is someone using a daw to perform a live track, thats not exactly djing (the art of playing premade music for an intended target). that is more akin to like having a dj as part of a band or as the backup to an artist who is an mc (as opposed to those that would cut and create music from other songs for an mc to rap over, that id still call djing as again it is using premade music). but nice clip anyways.

is it closing? ive been popping in before i hit lofi each thurs, though i dont particularly buy much vinyl. and yeah they usually pretty cool there.
-
i love that kentaro one. on the DVD you can change to about four different angles while watching. gets a little messy in the middle but wait for the 3 min mark. and you see all the rest was just like a preview

nice price (right now) for a beginner TT setup. Doesnt say what model but looks like the super OEM. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pioneer-DJM- ... 4cf7c7b7bc

a few techies at less than 5 hundred. The ecler nuo 5 looks good (ending soon). also one of the vestax pdx, not sure if that model is good though http://shop.ebay.com.au/spankrecords/m. ... 4340.l2562

no pics, but has mobile and allows viewing. while st150's are on sale right now so i personally wouldnt pay anymore than $800 for a pair of scond handers (in fact i wouldnt pay anymore than $600 because of my 50% rule). but if these are top notch and go for around a thou thats an alright bargain http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/STANTON-ST-1 ... 4aac09cf4e

But yes some of those are classics no doubt

i think dance goes through phases of being popular, and during these times a lot of dance is pop, and pop is dance. that acid man track use to get played on television in the early 90's (or was it late 80's), and in australia we only ever get pop tracks played on telly. and thats because at that particular time house and techno were both "pop"ular. and it will happen in cycels every couple of years. just as it has since the late 80's to now.
-
ha ha ha yeah some of the tracks i put up were pre-90's, so before you were born. i did put some 90's & noughties in. and ninjasonik was from about 2 years ago (which i guess is still noughties). what is 2010-2019 called?

Some OG's of EDM, kraftwerk. Not a film clip but a nice clip. Boogaloo shrimp ftw
-
Damn i forgot how much i love get up by technoctronic. If the folks look at any of these old fart travks we are posting check that one.
-
Hey djim i gots that dmob on 12 inch i think. Or some dmob track ha ha ha. That no face track i posted in my first one is the drrty remake of that jungle brothers track
-
And it aint a classic paatii without technotronic.
-
Me and my mate use to love when this would come on rage. Freaking classic fer sure
-
Yeah ninjasonik are one of my fave groups of all time. They do more hip hoppity ones when telli spits bars, to more vocal cut dance tracks when reverend mcfly gets on the mic like thst track. Ride on time still kills though.
-
This last track kills and is forever embedded in my head
-
Got the GOOD music posse playlist goin. Love this track too. Kanye raps with so much emphasis. Ha ha ha The last verse of this track is so deep and delivered so well
-
And oldie but i love this track. Bumping it hard right now.
-
Yeah man your job at these type of gigs is to control the dancefloor and vibe. Which is no small feat and is an essential part of djing. If your target audience hates whats your doing then no amount of beatmatching or key mixing is gonna make you a good dj. And ive said to you before, when i think about all the best corporate gigs, xmas parties or weddings ive been to. 90% of the time its because the dj nailed it. Right amount of vibe for the right amount of time. You know get the oldies up first. Then something to get the younger gen out, and some of the more drunken/ adventurous oldies will stay out. Then before you know it packed dance floor and everyone having a ball.

Hey sol i dont know how it is the mighty hilltop (hahaha i dont even know where the adelaide hills are) but i know our school always used the same mob. Which was one of the bigg mobile dj companies. I think if you were to approach all of them with a professional manner (i.e business cards, website, price list, insurance, licenses) they should be happy to consider. I guess also depends on size of school but yeah id say theyd go for more professional looking proprietors than backyard jobs. But definitely go for it and good luck w it man. Could be some nice regular cash

Yeah with the vocal drops i meant the scratching but more how you let it play out a couple times before scratching. And i was saying its cool how you do it as a track on a deck as opposed to using buttons to hot cue (not that there is anything wrong w that). I do the same. Which i guess you got used to doing because of yer vinyl background. In terms of vocal mixes. I meant in our first convo when you first joined i mentioned i was struggling with that 90 bpm hip hop mix, in particular because all tracks had vocals. And you gave me some tips but i was pretty much over it by then. So its great seeing some hip hop/ funk music being mixed here. So bigg ups

Typing while listening. Nice man. Love the vocal dropping via platter. That "change" transition didnt end too well. The next one at the 5 min mark was awesome. And thats a phat funky Track coming after that. Last tranny was awesome too wanted to keep listening Nice cuts yet again.
