Plenty of great female djs. Kate monroe is easily in my top five. One of only 2 djs who i could week in week out go to where theyre playing and dance all night. Shannyn sossamon apparently can mix cant say ive heard. And saigon would wipe the floor of mere mortal turntablists

Nice. You know i been waiting on that flushing song

can you give advise for what mixer to buy please
eggssell replied to PyroclasticMix's topic in Beginner DJ Tips & Tricks
Few points that may help other peoples responses as well as some answers When you say kill eq do you mean via switch or button; or do you mean kill as in actually reduces to nil when at zero, as some mixers dont actually kill. The former is not necessary if the knobs can do it. But the latter is also not necessary BUT may be desired. I remember reading somewhere you should never really kill any eq range as any vocal or melody or sound exists at more than one levels. Of course the ability to kill allows you to do things with it. If dj software you mean a dvs, they work with any mixer. Of course mixers with midi control expand what you can do but it is not necessary. What you are missing out with booth is the ability to have what you are recording not be affected by the master volume control. A 2 channel mixer just means you can control the sounds of two inputs. It doesnt determine what outs you have. For that you need to check with the mixers specs. Almlost all will have as a minimum stereo out and headphone out. All mixers will plug into a PA system out the box assuming you have right cables. In terms of effects, tbh otherthen to echo out the end of both the mixes ive posted i havent used em. So personally i dont think that should be a deciding factor and rather a bonus. Now in terms of actual suggestions. Unfortunately my experience is limited to a couple of reloops, a well use djm600 and a behringer (i think the 700 lookalike). I have to say the sound quality of the reloops were awesome and the fader on the iq2 (my perso mixer) has the best cross fader and line faders out of all the ones i have used. I have read good things about a&h's and eclers. My last bit, i suggest go for more channels if you can afford it. I have two and may never use another but did have delusions of grandeur of setting up a controller for a third deck but would have to wire thru mic because i only had a 2 channel mixer. -

sol been done. refer djtt, ean has done it during his live sets. also in the turntabilism videos there is one of dj ravine using the guitar hero guitar to play hot cues in traktor.

like all things do in moderation. but try to have a few songs in your set that you can do super long mixes of. i remember the one off chevs mix, must of went for a minute or so was awesome. nail a couple of them and things wont be so boring. not sure if you on tt's or cd's but its even more exciting on tt's cuz you have to keep slightly touching and tweaking.

Yeah for sure gotta cop. I like it. Nice minimal beats to prop the rhymers. And these two are some of the finest. Damn their days at the hip hop shop (was that wat it was called) must of been a hella scene cuz it produced some great talent. Including my fave bigg proof

Ive been meaning to check this EP. The bad meets evil track was one of my faves from the slim shady lp.

hold on but mainstream changes. years ago it was techno, early 2000's it was that playboy mansion house feel, a few years ago it was electrohouse, now im guessing its dubstep. but yes as per cap5 there are flaws to specialising. as for OP, id love to mix hip hop but suck balls at it. so i mix and i like to mix: disco, house and party breaks/ booty bass/ bmore

hey crundster did you get on redmans last album? copped a bit of heat because of the amount of club tracks, but i thought it rocked. people forget redman is one of the masters of the crossover and has been down with the pop scene for many years. if you aint checked it, go do it. and to the side, i watched how high the other day, i remember liking it when i was younger so thought it may have aged. but nah its funny as fark!

ha ha ha i just realised that, all you need to do is look at who everyone on the internets are hating, and that gives you a list of what is famous. so i guess you can add deadmau5, guetta and pitbull to the list based on other threads.

what is the fascination with remixes? why not just the OG track? i mean sure even the edm releases come out with several mixes, but surely people dont want to hear remixed pop tracks all day? i remember catching some commercial radio back in the day when i lived with other people and they would put four/ four beats on already released songs. sounds shit most of the time imo oh and in terms of OP dont know much about whats charting but i know of some commercial artists who have all dropped recently snoop beastie boys travis kanye big sean (full release should drop tomorrow) kid cudi (otay its been a year but the release still has fire) nicki minaj (not sure if she charting but seeing all the hate press and beefing stories, i assume she has hit tall poppy syndrome stage of her career) ofwgkta edit: oh yeah forgot lupe

ships nationally awesome price with some mods (dont know if thats good or bad). was gonna cop myself, but im banned from buying anything music related till i start regularly pumping out mixes. and from the production side i spent so long getting pro-tools and reason setup and ive never touched it. so for anyone else wanting to get into producing in esp. hippity hop (richo) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... oh okay. try unplugging anyways to see if its that. because if its not that then it could also be latency. however thats usually more of a snap, crackle and pop sound. kind of gives all your tracks that vinyl sound. have you tried playing around with your latency? remember lowest isnt the best. its about finding the best for your system. and stopping whatevers not needed. i found switching off the wireless card got rid of my crackles. -
