Hey guys,

I made a topic a little while ago about wanting to get into DJing and what equipment to get. I got a lot of advice and got told to ask for shipping from interstate on ebay or gumtree etc so I have done so and looked into it.

Ive found a CDJ MK3 1000 Pioneer Pro DJ x 1, that I could possibly pick up for $1000, but deal ends really soon is that a good price? Its near new, hardly used and looked after.

Also, what does x1 mean? do I need x2??

Thanks guys

$1k is a lot if it's second hand... and by the sound of it, theres only one (yes you need 2)

1000 mk2's go for about 500-600

1000 mk3's go for $700-800 usually

this is correct

mk2's can even finish under $500 at times cause no 1 wants them..i wouldnt mind picking up a steal seeing as i use CD's at the moment :P

perfect setup for a beginner (provided it's all in good condition)

cdj800's are much the same as 1000's in feel, minus a few features of course.

DJM400s are great little mixers, hdj1000's aren't bad either.

you'd have no problems making the transition from this setup to a proper club setup with 1000s and a djm800

Alright lads, i missed out on that set up unfortunately but have my eyes on another!

2 cdj1000 mk3 decks a djm400 mixer with all the cords. Hes gonna throw in a powered speaker he used around the house.

I can get this for between 2 - 2,300 $

Also, whats the diff between a 2 and 4 channel mixer? means I can only do so much or?

2 channel mixer means u can only plug 2 things in (ie. your 2 turntables)

4 channels means you can plug in more shit (ie. 2 turntables, an effects unit and some other shit)

you're gonna want more than 2 channels imo

the extra 4 channels are usually used for effects/another deck to sample off, your choice if you want to haev them now or worry about it later, this little guy isnt really the most feature rich mixer...

for that price, try to break it down like this...

a used CDJ1000mk3 goes for about lets say $800 max

so $1600 for 2, that means your paying $400 - $700 for a DJM400 mixer?

they are only $800 brand new...

Ebay brand new DJM400

i think your paying a little too much, for $2000 its an ok deal but i wouldnt go above that

Without sounding like an asshole, I think you need to do alot more research before dropping 2k on a setup.

And without replying like an asshole, the only way I'll learn is with the gear infront of me.

Reading only gets you so far but thanks for the advice

Point taken, I might offer him just for the cdj1000's or just offer him less all up.

Thanks man
