would the 128 or 192's suffice over a pa at reasonably low volume? i mean those kind of tracks are never going to be played at thumping volume over a sub or anything like that. they are in reality just backing music for the kind of functions they will be played at

yer see i didnt know either. i knew i could rip them off cd. but that would cost a rediculous amount of $$ to buy all the tracks

does beatport do those sort of things? not looking for remixes. just the origionals

So im trying to find a heap of older 70's/80's/90's tracks various gigs i have coming up. Now where is the best place to find this sort of music? I can find most with a simple google search. is 128 and 192 kbs good enough quality? I dont really want to have to get like $150 on itunes just so i can get them at 256. But dont really want to convert them to mp3 from aac. So where do you get your normal tracks from?

see i dont mind paying the extra 100 if it means it will be that much better. but realistically speaking i cant see it being worth the extra kilo's

so high on the list of things i have to buy is a sub. currently have 2 b212d's that sit on stands but as u can imagine im missing abit of low end. now im mindful of the fact that i would probably end up buying 2 subs but for now only 1 is on the cards. Now the only reason i didnt go straight for 18' as that would be beastly, is because i am mindful of my primary focus. and that is mobile djing. the 1800D is like 15kg heavier. i think as it stands the 15' would be hard enough to move on its own never mind the extra for the 18'. Would i really loose out on that much just going for the 15'??

Looking to step into some producing, also need another computer to go with the dj setup, would probably become dedicated music laptop so im looking for a second hand one. maybe someone has upgraded/got sick of it/other not sure reason for sale but if anyone has one they are thinking of selling let me know and maybe we can work something out. Not set on a particular price yet, have some money to head towards this but wont say how much but yer. let me know what you have and we can go from there to those who will bitch about me asking for apple. 1) been pc owner all my life, will still own several of them after this purchase (anyone remember the picture i took for ysm i already have a fuckload of laptops ) 2) just one of those try and see how i like it. i may be a convert. never know... but that is by far not my sole reason for purchase. There is a decent chance that the laptop would end up with my brother in 6 months time who is moving to a new school that already has a large and extensive apple infrastructure in place as part of gov. laptop scheme (yes they took the subsidy money, chipped in a little extra and gave the kids macbooks!) so that is part of my rational. Anyone let me know.
