lol, imagine it in a club with all the interference. Pioneer are getting as bad as apple all these new models to milk the public for every last dollar, i assume we will have new cdjs within two or so years a swell the rate they are going.
Hey guys back at whatclub this Sat, main room 11.30 - 12.30, swing by if you're in the cross. Anyone else out this Satuday? a mate is having his birthday will most likely do a bit of crawl post up if youre playing/going anywhere will try and swing by. [EDIT] Just going to put all my whatclub/candys gigs in here from now on. Back at Whaat cluub this Saturday they are having a big combined event with another party 'fuck yeah fridays', should be a big night i'm warming up all the things at 10.30 mainroom.
Would assume 900s or 2000s if it's a new club man. Know any promoters on facey to find out? Just burn disks in case is the easiest way and still take your usbs.
Its like anything you get what you pay for, i personally wouldnt touch them after using them frequently in my old av job. They blew very easily and really sound rubbish next to a good jbl or mackie, rca etc. It does of course allow people to get a pa system for dirt cheap. You also have to consider if the investment is even worth it, will you play enough parties to make the money back? Will you get sick if djing soon and be stuck with gear? Can you afford to fix them as they are likely to blow drivers if pushed. For me hiring a pair of good eons for 60 a night ended up being better for me.
As for for your questions 6 or so hours, the pa will depend on venue size, you will need coverage for not just the dancefloor but also near tables for speeches. No subs and lights would a couple nice effects, no strobes or lasers just colorful room fill.
Its a pretty special occasion man, unless it is a close friend/family i would pass on it if you dont think you are ready. Majority of the party will be background music, nice upbeat house, oldies, jazz anything. The hard part is the dancefloor becauese you dont have just 90 or rock oldies, you could not proper old stuff for grandparents etc I did one and tbh wish i didnt, no major fuck ups but pretty stressful, luckily was a very young crowd.
Upmarket hip hop promoters especially make a killing with their high entry fee, the asian crowds are crazy lineup for hours, pay 35 bucks buy 3 or 4 20 dollar drinks, get smashed off those couple of drinks and leave, such a high turnover of people paying entry it's nuts.
Yep absolutely massive costs, the nightclub licenses in sydney, especially the cross are so expensive it is ridiculous not to mention the high rent. Just to clear it up for some people majority of the costs is split with clubs. Bar sales go to Ngithclub owner(s), security, bar staff, stock, rent, power, lights and speakers Door sales go to Promoters, djs, flyer people
ah that was handy to know actually, i assumed it still changed the pitch but just doesnt show it until it reaches the next 0.05. the bpm readings are irrelevant you should never trust them on cdjs anyway just a rough guide.
A smaller club/pub in the city does 10-20k on the bar, and promoters generally make 2-5k but they obviously have to pay all the promoters, djs, flyer people, production etc I know candys apartment do 40/50k on the bar on a busy night which is mammoth for their capacity, not sure what the bigger clubs do promoter wise but the hip hop scene clubs do around 5k min a night.
