I think it looks gimmy as hell tbh, just look up the s4/ddj s1 if you want a decent controller.

There are millions of variables in set ups but a common feature is being top heavy, invest in a good external eq/crossover guys can do wonders

In vdj you can select the midi controller try that, also stuff like windows firewall and and UAC should be turned off providing you have a firewall on your router, trying to think why its not working.
