Got a Dick Smith near by? They selling their shit cheap right now and usually well stocked with headphones. -
For TV just get a set of cheapish PC speakers. Will do the job just fine.

The way business banking works is the company has to constantly provide the banks with their financials (usually monthly but may be more often at this size). If the bank is in anyway concerned about their ability to service the debt they issue a notice to repay the debt usually within 30 days. Can't pay, they bring in the administrators (special accounting firm) that remove anyone who runs the business. They then run it until they decide the best way to get the creditors their money back. Either by working through it and selling off the business (or parts of) or liquidating it. No pussy footing around like consumer loans. This is is where the $10m default will have come from. If one bank is calling in the debt it's a brave one that will take it on. So they've obviously borrowed big to buy all the things. Considering they probably have very little as far as tangible assets like buildings, equipment or stock. Main asset they would have is money in the bank and future potential earnings. Probably a heap of corporate excess along the way and suddenly income generated is a long way from projections. And then you are in a tough spot. Got to spend money to make money, but got no money to spend. My my guess is Beatport will be sold off as it is probably a profitable division. The festival side will go kaput.

Well all the cool kids are doing it.... I was one of those people who posted links to mixes in my intro I haven't created a mix in fuck knows how long.... Long time. But with the move into a new house again in the coming days I am hoping to get back into it with the monthly mixes. Plus, I am sure we are all like this, I like listening to my own mixes. They are after all filled with the music I like. I'm sick of listening to the mixes I have so need to make some new ones. Reading back this intro reminds me how I got here. @Gandy and I have a mutual friend who was trying to sell some Numark gear and I saw someone (before I knew of Gandy) post a link, suggesting he sell them here. Rest is history.

Old albums outsold new releases for the first time ever You can thank vinyl for that. 2015 may have been a good year for the music industry, but it wasn't a great year for music released in 2015. For the first time since Nielsen began tracking music sales in the US, catalog albums (an industry term for anything released over 18 months ago) outsold new releases. There are a number of factors that add up to catalog albums taking the sales crown. Music streaming was up 92 percent from 2014 and physical album sales for new releases dropped 14 percent, while catalog album sales only decreased by 2 percent. Add in the revival of vinyl records to that — 12 million units were sold in the format, with records from Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Miles Davis making up three of the five best-selling vinyl albums — and catalog albums had the juice to top new releases, despite Adele selling 7.4 million units of 25 in 2015. (And if you're thinking older people are carrying the vinyl revolution, think again; Taylor Swift's 1989 was the second biggest vinyl album of 2015.) Catalog music is also dominating music streaming as well, with new releases only making up 30 percent of audio and video streaming volume. 2015 may have just been a bad year for new music from the biggest stars, with no albums from Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean (Frank, where are you????) or everyone could have just been playing 21 on repeat waiting for Adele to finally release her new record. Either way, America wasn't really in love with what 2015 had to offer. New albums still have a slight lead when it comes to digital sales, and if the numbers hold steady throughout 2016, it can maintain that lead. But it's clear the immediate future of music consumption may be led by catalog releases as more and more people embrace streaming as a viable music source and vinyl sales continue to grow. Source

I'm a negative on this one. The person I've been trained up to cover their job is on holidays then which means I can't be off at the same time.

NOMINATIONS: Quiet Achiever of 2015

AlexJ.... Dude has moved into being a working DJ. -
To be fair that's probably more a 2nd half 2015 nomination.

Going to have to add the best part of two days either side of your trip. Not sure how long the drive. Google maps says 19 hours non stop. I certainly don't want to rain on anyone's parade but from experience most people are pretty partied out by the end. Maybe road trip there and fly back seeing as you have so far to go?

A Pair of Beats Headphones Costs Only $17 In Parts
Kodiak replied to Cupe's topic in DJ Headquarters
I'm honestly surprised they cost that much to make. Doing one of my uni assignments a lifetime ago and we sourced parts fro some electronics we had brain stormed the construction of and I was blown away at the price of electrical components. -
@BeatLeSS??? What you up to NYE? Also, tagging is cool!

I just did that to get here and it didn't work (mobile) but refreshed the page and all good. Yay multi quote! Personally I'd love for it to default giving a line break after a quote. First line right under quote box presses on my ocd... But probably just me lol.
