  1. Yep... YouTube scan the songs too. I uploaded a mix and it picked out about 3 or 4 of the songs. And blocked my video in Germany. Said video was fine but flagged the songs to the owners for a take down notice should they wish to proceed.
  2. Along with a thread title a bit more informative than "Opinion"
  3. What's a CD?
  4. If it is not downloadable and you are using a 3rd party downloader to rip the audio then you will get it at the quality it streams at (128kbps). But if it is downloadable (ie has arrow icon for download) you will get it at the bit rate it was originally uploaded in (typically 320kbps).
  5. Google+ Hangout? Obviously people would have to be on Google+ (as they should cause it is superior to Facebook).
  6. Been wanting to do a another hardstyle mix for a while after I posted that other one. Getting my new today HD25's was reason enough for me to go for it. http://soundcloud.com/dj-drc1/memories-of-advent-jah
  7. Did I miss something? Where did the Amsterdam bit come in?
  8. Just picked up my 25's from my PO box..... Eargasm! Love them already.
  9. Finally got around to doing a mix as I haven't done a new one since the newb comp. This isn't my best work. But I am trying to expand my horizons beyond my normal Electro and Progressive House. I really do love this slower tempo stuff. I tried to start with a more funky feel and progress to some dirty tracks toward the end. I LOVE the last song at about 32:30, it sounds nasty. http://soundcloud.com/dj-drc1/lets-go-to-kazantip Track List: 1. Stayin Alive (k Theory & TYR Remix) - The Bee Gees 2. Superheroes (Twist Remix) - Quartus Saul & Maksim 3. Fire in The Hole (Original Mix) - Pegboard Nerds 4. Superstition (The Noisy Freaks Remix) - Stevie Wonder 5. Rooftop Revival (Bro Safari Remix) - Treasure Fingers 6. Set it Off feat Lazerdisk Party Sex - Diplo 7. One Two (Original Mix) - Kairo Kingdom 8. Sleaze feat Mistajam - Knife Party 9. Retro City - Adventure Club 10. Bass Kick - Kid Kenobi 11. Sentinel - Midnight Conspiracy/Cenob1te Feedback welcome as always.
  10. Was my thinking too. They truly are universally lauded. The only negative I have heard is they can be uncomfortable to some people. I have not heard these in real life. One of the many downsides to being regional. Mine are already in the mail. Got delivery confirmation at 8am today so should have them maybe tomorrow or at least by Wednesday.
  11. I think Gandy has/had both and I am sure he has advised buying the 25's to someone here. Although not 100% sure.
  12. Damn... I did a quick look and I only saw $280ish and I can't cancel it cause it is paid with paypal and all done. Ohh well...
  13. Very nice work.
  14. Cheers...Wasn't sure what happened there. Was downloading a few things, and thought my internet was just playing up and jammed and not showing the image.
  15. Joining the club... Mitch: fixed img link
  16. I am liking this.... I like these genres too. Got a soundcloud? I would love to download a copy.
  17. I enjoyed this. Only thing I noticed is a couple times where vocals were being mixed together and sometimes sounds a bit busy. But other than that was all good.
  18. Welcome
  19. please note whinge thread.... I always kinda wanted a keyboard too. Not only for bits of production, but to teach my daughter the very basics (as far as my skill goes) and to have something for her to practise on. I see A LOT of benefit in kids learning music.
  20. The man knows. He has owned them all You know someone was going to say it huh? But I think Sol makes a really valid point regarding turn tables and Serato. Although there is the tactile element of turntables no CDJ or controller can replace. If I was doing Hip Hop and scratching I wouldn't want to go any other way. But I don't...
  21. Now just need to get them at the right height.... Unless you are really, really short.
  22. I am having a hard time with this. The change from 110 bpm to 140 bpm with nothing really bridging it is proving to be difficult for my meagre skills.
  23. My very inexperienced 2c on this.... I bought some 8" M-Audio monitors to go with my S4 setup as I thought this would be the right way to go about things... ie having the sound being as accurate as possible. But what I have noticed is I do have some issues with EQ's in my mix, specifically in the bass department when I am getting too much at times (and this was largely the feedback from the newb comp). I attribute this to the fact what I am listening too, whilst an accurate reproduction of the sound is not as bass heavy as sound systems people normally listen to. A couple things could also be affecting this though. First they are not set up in an ideal location right now. They are just to the side of me. I believe most near field monitors are greatly affected by poor placement and if I had them set up in front of me as they are supposed to be I will get better, fuller sound. Will find out next week when I move house and set this up properly. I also tend to do my mixes with the volume down as I don't really want to be annoying the neighbours by making them listen to me practise the same transition and audition music over and over. And lastly it could just be these monitors? All reviews indicated they were very good. But like everything audio related some brands have differing sound characteristic, for example KRK's are known to be fairly bass heavy and probably why they are the choice of DJ's more than producers (but the 8" were out of my price range at the time, would pay the extra now with the experience I have). As for PA's I have no experience. Not sure how they sound when at personal listening volumes?
