  1. farkin hell how do you use embedded images now? EDIT: i give up. if you want to see the pics, just right click the image, copy properties to a new tab and you can see the pics. tried link and tried embed both major fails.
  2. yay my new ipod dock a sweet find. immaculate as, tape still works (which is rare for these 2nd handers) and the sound is unbelievable. no wonder japan made models were sought after in the early days of home electronics. (sorry about the remote photo) http://www.photoshop.com/users/eggssell/assets/353c2f1e8b1643d7b2c293fdbbb12530 i can also plug my turnies into it, like in the film wild style http://www.photoshop.com/users/eggssell/assets/01c071658005438d90ead07837fc575b

trackkk crundster. big reps. you shoulda postd this
  8. i know one guy who might have an opinion but you prob dont want his opinion but yeah sorry i wouldnt know but off the top of my head, i assume youd have to hit at the particular record label or production house (for TV & Film); and/ or the artist. a lot of artists these days answer on emails, blogs or soundclouds. anyways thats all i got, maybe some of the folks that been released like tomy or cbg might know more.
  9. bigups and rep to all the organisers of these comps. cupe the creator, have you facied it?
  10. yay friday shuffle which i didnt start. this is only my iphone cuz work speakers died last week so cant use my ipod. anyways... common feat bilal - play your cards right this was from the sweet soulful finding forever album from a few years back. typical of the trakcs of that album, with a nice soulful backing track. horns and "yays". nice little hook from bilal. perfect sunday sunset track, or 2 am cigar smoking at the back of the club track.
  11. oh and i wasnt being condescending. of course you know the freaking diff between a producer and dj. read my last line, i catered for what you meant, i.e. the premade sets. anyways sorry if i did sound like i was judging your knowledge mann. peace. now back to bagz mixxx (its all your fault foolish )
  12. hmmm i wasnt arguing brother, as i said "im not sure what you were saying." no engrish isnt my first language, its just my only language (well i did study japanese about seven yrs ago but totally failed at it). and no im not a venue dj. but have been clubbing since 93 and have mingled with dj's for i dont know 23-25 years. but yeah not trying to get into a peacock dance with ya mayne. you are a DJ, im a dude with turntables. so no doubt you will win there. i just misunderstood. me no speaka engrish ya know
  13. Heyy. Thanks for the welcome. Really appericate it. I spin in Clarke quay places like heli-pad, home club, zirca. And also beach house at sentosa - azzura. Yup I have to agree Singapore night live isn't that bad. But it's a pity that no many clubs dare to try out house to electro house genre. That's why I am able to play those genre at azzura only. Can you remember where you partied? hey man. went for work so really didnt get around to partying per se. plus cuz im an old fart and retired my dancing shoes anyways, was going to hit this one club in the alley way at clarke. i was chilling having drinks at the outside bar of "black lounge" or "noir lounge" or something like that. and around the corner they said to check the club. couldnt remember the name, could have been zirca(?). the bar was awesome. alco is pricey as a mo out there, but i realised caprioska were the same as canadian and dry, so switched up. and the holmies were free pouring that shyte, blacktown mix style. i read about heli pad, sounded good to. will prob be there again sometime soon so will def want to check more of the scene.
  14. hmmm im not sure what you are saying? i think you are mixing up EDM artists/ producers who perform versus djing. if you create a song say in pro tools, and then during a dj set, you play that song you are not miming? you are playing a song (which is djing). then there are those artists that perform live. i.e. they have samples, stems, and so on and then wil play their music live using the software and their controllers/ keyboards/ keytars/ pads and whatever other midi devices. yes, a lot of dj's are now using these additional things to spice up their dj sets. but a dj set is still the act of playing pre-recorded music into a set. this could include live remixing, or live sampling, but in the end it is stringing together tracks. not performing a track live. i think this goes back to my previous comments about producers and djs. people have to realise not all producers who get signed to a fest are performing live, they could be up there to do a dj set. on the other hand if you are talking about those few people who have been busted with an entire set that was premade in a software and then they get up and press buttons which are not plugged in. then yes that could be called cheating.
  15. yawn come on foolish, you use a controller and many vinyl people could argue youve made things heaps easier by choosing that option. and the arguement of, yeah but i know how to do it i just to choose to make things easier, is hardly one. all this purist bullshit. djing is not a religion people. yes it is an art form, but thats what makes art great, its personal on how you do it. art has never been about staying one way. not saying your opinion doesnt count, but its in all the other threads already. and its a little rude as it adds nothing for dj bagz people gonna hate or they aint gonna hate. and for those that hate there is varying degrees turntable peeps onto cdjers; cdjers onto controllerists; controllerists onto dj hero; dj hero people onto that fisher price thing on hobberz avatar; and the fisher price people on all the other poor kids in the day care whose parents cant afford good shit. okay shake hands, kiss and lets get back to the good stuff.
  16. hey mate welcome where abouts in singapore you spin, clarke bay? i just popped by there this year. nice place.
  17. cool cheers jaz. havent really given it much thought but the comments in this thread and the few with sol-ja boy made me wonder. but yeah i guess with a bigger platter you would have more accuracy finding a place in the track as small movements equal small movements (?)
  18. ha ha okay how about anyone older than hoddi is senior cheers man + rep. thats what i was afraid of. i always remembered the sound that came out of them was either echoey or lacked bass. didnt realise it would be louder... hmmmm
  19. slight side question but might help mattye out in choosing. whats the advantage of the bigger platter? dont you only really just nudge it? or is it for scratching?
  20. ill let the cd bois give you the 411 on cdj's, but just one word of advice dont let the shelf decide what you buy. i mean you can get a new table for about 100 brand new (cheaper 2nd hand), less than 10% of the equip you are about to buy! i mean you will prob own the equip for longer than you stay in that room (as i assume you still at home). just my 2 pennys
  21. damn i want this
  22. hey prob only for the seniors on the forum, and by senior i dont mean in heirarchy. or maybe some of you more electronic savvy cats. but does anyone know if the mic inputs on the old 80's portable cassette players are just nomal line ins, and then hence can take a line-in using your normal 3.5mm jacks? i remember some of the best players even had phono inputs, but im thinking more so the lower models which just had mic input. so you could rap over the cassette playing; or sing to your OPM karaoke tapes (por the pilos).
  23. Sol we just mentioned heaps of peeps who get big without production. But ey if you want the cock go for it
  24. i'm prob not much help as to whats hot for the kiddies right now. but my music leads usually come from word of mouth (esp. here); interviews of people i like in the music biz (be it dj's or artists); looking at who people i like are working with (either collabo's or remixes); and finally i follow shyte loads of record label/ artists/ dj blogs (fools gold; mad decent; atrak; craze; spankrock; cudi etc. etc.). and then from one track/ artist you can usually follow that lead to maybe 50 other tracks by looking at who has that person remixed for; who else is on their label; look at the tracks of the people who have remixed their track; look at the labels of the people who have remixed their track; look at other tracks by guest vocalists on their tracks; look at these vocalists labels and so on and so on. of course of the 50 you may only find 1 jewel. but that jewel is the next step for another 50 tracks. cant remember who it was now, but i remember jonny put me onto one dude which lead to about a 40 track haul. oh and once you buy a track follow them, any guests/ collabos, any remixers, and their label (heaps easy to follow in juno and beatport). which means you will always have a truck load of leads the next time you go in.
  25. damn bossn!
