  1. oh ive seen people do swapsies at a club. but since they were both using serato with TT's it was just swap laptops.
  2. wait isnt the multicore cables better because they are already all combined. and lloyd you actually dont need the multi core, they just reduce the need for more cables if you want the ability to use tsp or play through without it
  3. just hold out a bit mate. a lot of the members have kit, and or are moving onto bigger kit. we usually get some fresh blood each month looking to get into the art. hang about for a couple more weeks.
  4. yes and no. when i hopped onto my nephews cdj's took me about 20-30 mins to start beatmatching and shyte. still couldnt for the life of me figure out how to cue properly, or even set the cue on the fly. so just kept pressing play and then stop it at a reasonable 1 beat to cue up. so i think you still need someone to teach you how some things work.
  5. oh crap did i miss the voting already?
  6. Yeah pez is cool. 360 had this cool youtube cypher going for a bit with some big names of O.Z. Hip hop.
  7. Yo mate
  8. Overseas at the mo and wifi so-so. Will give it a burl on thurs when i get home. Or maybe see if i can get on someones comp. Still Been smashing cokeface and sharing it whenever i can
  9. Oh craig david vinyl. But more the artful dodger tracks feat craig david 12 inches. Record fair in couple weeks ill put it on my search list. Scored heaps of technotronic last time
  10. Hey fool hook me up to!
  11. Hey yo hows it hanging. Where you been looking? For the last year and a half 95% of the places ive been have turntablensetups, and 100% of those places with turnies were using DVS. Just to name a few (and no hating it usually starts off for a drink or two and randomly ends up somewhere we werent meaning to go) Shark bar, haymarket hotel, hunter bar, cargo bar (downstairs), some random pub on george street, gordons at chatswood, chelsea at chatswood, the back of v bar, the gaelic club, one or two places at newtown, the argyle at the rocks (well okay by the time i was there the techs were on the floor!!!) just off the top of my head and im sure there are more. And they werent all rnb and hip hop, a lot of disco, funk or house. Or for like shark all commercial.
  12. Im with wazza. Its hella racist. You already said up there the music you wanted rnb, rap, hip hop. What more did you need. And damn hip hop has never had colour man. Shyte was international way back in the 80's and each neighbourhood that it germed in is quite distinct. I know you werent being malicously racist, but you have to admit you were being quite ignorant thinking music had a colour. The whole EDM scene came from house music of which African americans were part of the pioneers. Just saying
  13. actually id prefer to watch it. as you can get a better sense of the person, and their engagement in the interview. after that prob read it. its also good to have a transcript of videos for those times (like at work) when you cant just be watching vids. not to say i dont mind live interviews to break up radio shows
  14. The tt vs cd question is just a perso one mate. Nearly all clubs ive been have both Each have similarities and diffs. Tt's are usually more expensive but heaps of second handers. Vinyl is also more expensive. Then you can consider a dvs so you can use your existing music collection. But it costs more money. You can also use a dvs in relative mode and it turns your decks into bigg ass cdjs. I chose tt because i wanted to do what people i grew up following use. And most places i hit the djs still use tt's. And the holmies have decks so its nice to be able to hop on. And i dont regret it. IMO def dont do it because of the elitist arguement. Thats just BS
  15. what great rice was it, longrain, basmati, or that nice short stocky sushi rice foresters ftw EDIT: and not having a go a lot of my posts are all farked with "n"'s instead of spaces becuase of my phat fingers on the stupid iphone
  16. i remember reading though that the promoter wont listen to the whole thing anyway, cuz they get plenty and they got plenty to do. so its the first ten you really got to get them convinced. so no bigg slow growing song at the start else by 5 mins he/ she'll yawn and walk off. off course once hooked they may have it playout in their office or car and so on.
  17. sol. midi is just a for of communication. if the 850's can send it and serato can read it, it should work.
  18. oh man now you tell me!! nice advice tomy
  19. you can re-download for a period after (not sure maybe a couple days). but you can actually email them and they may make it available for you. i know itunes does, and i'd be surprised if beatport doesnt. i remember there was an album my ex bought and i mustve deleted it (and i swear not on purpose), and we just emailed itunes and then it was sitting in our to be downloaded.
  20. Oh and before richo busts a cap in my arse, dont sleep on the Oh Zee Hip hop too. New herd and new phrase this month! Herd always have a few crowd sing along tracks
  21. Oops i just realised this was in mobile not beginner. So maybe some of the tracks are full on, which may fly in my old hood but not elsewhere. But im sure kanye, cudder and redman are all famous and all have party tracks. And trust frank ocean will be on everyones lips soon if he aint already. Anyways wont be a hip hop expose without me mentioning MURS. Otay not new but still hot on the rotation and new shit on the way. But his duo with terrace martin had a handful of club Tracks and all murs albums have little party gems. Melrose-We On Melrose from Van Styles on Vimeo.
  22. Again from my to buy list the wu tangs legendary weapons. Not an actual wu tang clan studio album, but tracks from the wu and friends. So go check that out.. Doubt there are videos. But also check from earlier this year Ghostface killahs apollo kids which has a few club tracks and the usual tony starks love songs. And also from early this year still in my rotation is wu associate Redmans album Reggie. Now this has plenty of party tracks! Ghostface dont do many videos these days heres some redman (and watch the movie how high if you havent already) Redman "DefJammable" from Sleepless City Productions on Vimeo.
  23. Damn cyhi killed that. And he was the least known dude at the time. Look out for his full release too sometime. He dropped a single with atrak last year.
  24. Sticking with the GOOD music tip. Their latest release was from big sean. Its on my to buy list cuz i was a fan of his uknowbigsean mixtape from several years back, not so much his latest mixtape, but he one of these new schoolers who are fire yet had not dropped a full release (cool kids, chip the ripper, donnis and so on) Heres a few random vids Big Sean feat. Chip Tha Ripper & GLC - Okay from Elephilms on Vimeo. Oh forgot about this. GOOD music cypher with the legendary premier on the decks. Ill let kanye do the intros 2010 BET HHA - G.O.O.D. Music Cypher from CaCHooKa Man on Vimeo.
