ive got a house warming coming up soon with anyone from 24 - 30 (house warming is for a 26 yrold couple) and im def going to be bringing alot of top40 remixes i think they will be requested but im mainly planning to play stuff from aria club chart as i would say alot are going out every weekend and would be hearing/enjoy alot on the club chart. maybe the engagement party just would like some nice funky background tech house , who knows but best to ask as cupe said or even give them 2 or 3 mixtapes with very different styles and they can pick what they like: one top 40? one club? one tech house? if they want a mix of all 3 your laughin can go nuts but if anyone has advice for sol i def could use it also as this is one of my first proper gigs apart from cpl small house parties! but all in all i would definately say alot of songs from club chart you should definately have for the night

yeah true good point jaz i guess they cleaning up from them, its amazing how many are for sale second hand these days (350 kit) i think that brand new 400 for this, you could pick up djm400 with alot more features or with djm800 dropping so quick second hand these wont be much more soon either i guess but once these 250's are floating around second hand maybe be able to pick them up really cheap in a year or so for people starting out!
-
maybe but im not too sure because i dnt think they will make another small platter cdj and i think it may be hard to design a full size cdj with a different selling/price point to 850 atm ?

hey mate just spent 15mins flicking through listening to a bit here and there making sure i found the transitions, and i liked it!! make sure you edit your post and add tracklist and transition times, alot of people just wont listen to your mix if you dont have that, so its going to get you more feedback as the listener can easliy jump through and get a feel for the groove and transitions with ease! personally i really liked the way it build up and got abit more party style towards the end, and only points to improve are *some* beatmatching (some transitions were matches perfect was very impressive thought was using sync till i hear the later parts so good job!!) and work on your eqing, and also phrase matching, im sure if you do a search theres some info on here but basically if you phrase match 2 songs nicely and eq it well, can really get some amazing transitions going with ease! what gear did you do this on? your beatmatching is quite good apart from a cpl transitions where it gets messy, but most of improvement would be in axctually *where* your starting bringing in the next track in, and the eqing while your doing it, like for example try sometimes to bring in with no base, so ur hearing just highs and some mids of new track but not much because its just the intro, then as the mids start to come in for new track, start killing the mids on other track. Because with some tracks if you have both mids going, (especially if both vocal) then it can sound messy even if beatmatches perfect! (thats why can be a real pain to mix a track that has vocals right to end into a track with vocals right at beginning) but try to make these eq changes when there is a change in one of the tracks, as this will make your mix be unnoticeable!! (hopefully haha) then when first drop/new phrase of new track comes, do a quick switch of the bass (turn original track bass down, and turn new tracks bass on) but yeah towards the end some of the tracks were nice got me bopping so good job just some mismatches beats but thats easy fix!

Hi all, not sure if this is the right section if not please move but i think this fits it best, i entered the tenminmix last month, if you dont know what it is be sure to check out http://www.djtutor.com/tenminmix here is my entry if you would like to check it out ! it made the shortlist (top 20) but not top ten (mentioned on site) or prizes or anything but im going to enter again this month (with my new 2000s and 800:D) ill be sure to post it here also! i was wondering if anyone else here has ever does enter this regularly? if so i thought we could either: post in this thread our entries so we could listen, give feedback, and vote for each other if we like it! AND/OR we could even just have our own tenminmix comp montly/quarterley/once off whatever

hey all this is awesome thanks so much for organising it! i am preparing to fool around with some remixes now, and was wondering if we were to use/create a mashup of TWO of the songs on the list: would it count for both songs? (ie 2/10 min requirement) if it did NOT count for both, how to determine which song it counts for so we can use another version of the one that was not counted(maybe we just nominate one and indicate via a comment or something?) also, can we use a mashup of a song on the list, but its mashed up with a song that is NOT on the list, simply for the reason that we really like the feel of that track? thanks again, looking forward to working on this !

awesome remix man.. should get that known somehow could get a lot of attention! -
yep thats all good advice i also do a mix of the following: 1. DJ City 2. er7radio.net essential mixes (with tracklists) and really enjoy the pete tong weekly show get some really cool fresh tracks on his essential tunes 3. listening to peoples mixes off here 4. radio and then finding a nice remix 5. TOTD thread here (and COTD) 6. i just got a huge haul of cheese from hoddis party playlist, aboslute gold 7. Aria Charts 8. browse top100 of genres on beatport 9. if linked to youtube from TOTD or something similar and i love the remix, if i really like the track i will surbscribe that person and check out all their stuff as they put it up 10. got to hot30 chart and listen through top30 songs from radio and pick some i like and search for a remix (could use aria chart for this i guess but i haev never tried it that way dunno why just used to hot30 i guess)
