Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in SL1200s and step-down transformers
Nope, I used a step down and it was fine. Turntables are very low power consumption so you'd only need a 50w one for 2 turntables (plus a Japanese Y adaptor). I bought one very similar to this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/50-Watt-Japanese-Isolated-Step-Down-Transformer-Voltage-converter-100V-SD100-50/252419714651?hash=item3ac5632e5b:g:mnQAAOxyTMhR8M1a&frcectupt=true and had no issues. Re: audio quality, I can't say it's 100% unaffected (but it almost certainly should be), but if there is any difference it'll be imperceptible.

Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in Cupe needs a new PC build
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/3KrDzN
just under 2k all up including a GPU. Add $200 if you go with the 8 core 3700x, $110 if you go for the ASUS X570 TUF motherboard, and $120 if you go for 32gb of ram.

Scottie got a reaction from Doddy in Cupe needs a new PC build
CPU: Are you going to be doing a lot of media encoding/transcoding, or want to hang onto this rig for as long as possible before upgrading again? If so, get this CPU for $515: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/CPU/AMD-Socket-AM4/77564-100-100000071BOX
otherwise, get this for $315 https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/CPU/AMD-Socket-AM4/77560-100-100000031BOX
RAM: Consider whether you really need 32gb - if you're just gaming or other light workloads, you won't need more than 16gb, and pricing becomes much better. If you do need 32gb, I'd recommend this kit for $280: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/47633, otherwise if you can settle for 16gb I'd get this at $160: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07X8DVDZZ
Motherboard: If you want all 8 SATA drives to be connected directly to the motherboard no hassle, get this: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Motherboards/AMD-Socket-AM4/77670-TUF-GAMING-X570-PLUS-(WI-FI) (though you can find it for ~$50 cheaper on Amazon au).
If you want to save more, you can buy this board for $160 (https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Motherboards/AMD-Socket-AM4/78473-B450-GAMING-PLUS-MAX) which has 6 SATA ports, then combine it with this 2 SATA port expansion card for $80 (https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Controllers/SATA-&-SAS-&-M.2/64478-SST-ECS03), which saves you about $100 total over the other board.
SSD: I'd recommend getting an m.2 NVMe drive given how many SATA drives you're going to have, getting an m.2 NVMe drive means you're not cutting into the number of SATA drives you can have. I'd recommend this at $100: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/XML48d/silicon-power-a80-512-gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-sp512gbp34a80m28, or the 1tb model for ~$180. Note: turns out that using an m.2 drive on any motherboard will mean that two SATA ports are disabled, so you'd actually be better off getting a SATA SSD like this for $90 instead if you wanted maximum storage: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Hard-Drives-&-SSDs/SSD-2.5-&-PCI-Express/71046-CT500MX500SSD1
PSU: What you've chosen is fine
Case: What you've chosen is fine
Drives: I'd recommend this drive for the best price/GB over 10tb for ~$500 after shipping - https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/seagate-exos-x14-enterprise-st12000nm0008-12tb/p/1Z4-002P-00JV2. If you don't want to spend so much per drive, but lose some density in terms of the maximum TB amount you can fit in your case, I'd recommend this for $310 - https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/seagate-ironwolf-8tb-7200-rpm-3.5-sata-nas-interna/ST8000VN004

Scottie reacted to xyz in Noise from USB audio interface - help fixing?
Got the ground lift adapters in today, and they've made a world of difference.
I can still here a tiny bit of the squeal if I get close to the speakers while the GPU is going hard, but it's inaudible from my seating position and definitely so while playing back audio - the quality of which doesn't seem to be affected. I'm very happy with my $10.04 solution!
Cheers for the advice guys.

It wouldn't affect the headphone jack because the headphone jack is being powered by the same electrical powerpoint as the rest of the PC or something. That link looks like its definitely worth a shot for only $6

Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in Stanton ST150 Turntable Rebuild
maybe instead of full gold on buttons/tonearm, stick with an easier colour or stock and have gold trim. not sure how easy that'd be though

Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in Floorfillers for suburbs?
if you're looking for top 40 ish cheese, you can go here https://www.ariacharts.com.au/annual-charts/2014/singles-chart and scroll through the list of each year's top 100 in aus. anything from late 90s to mid 2000s is probably a winner in that age range

Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in Limiters?
after a certain point something along the chain will start clipping so you're not going over the max anyway. The limiter you want, was inside you all along - use your brain and watch levels. If you think something like that will happen again, and you can't just keep an eye on levels, unmap the master output volume knob/set up master limiter in traktor/tape off the volume knobs on the monitors - hardware limiters start at nearly $200 and are built for studios, so they're big units for rack mounting.

Scottie got a reaction from Craig in USB to Rekordbox
Maybe this?
https://rekordbox.com/_app/files/img/rekordbox4.0.0manual_en1001g.pdf
If you update the star rating on the decks, then unplug the USB and then plug it back into the decks, has the star rating stayed updated?

Scottie got a reaction from Cupe in Cupe needs a new PC build
didn't you buy a new 650w psu recently? That'll be plenty for this build even with a million drives and upgrading cpu/gpu in a couple years. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/x3wWP3 - just over $1.1k with a new psu, but under 1k without. Cpu is about $20 cheaper compared to scorptec, this uses the less fast ram but is $70 cheaper than scorptec's price, motherboard is $10 cheaper. Cpu cooler isn't 100% needed because the stock one for AMD is okay, but the one in the parts list will be pretty much silent and keep your shit cooler
