cant see what you linked. but refer link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dub_music note however while dub music became a genre unto itself. the "dub" mix has been around for years, and a lot of non-dance vinyls would usually come with radio edit, club mix, acapella, and dub mix. the dub mix would be the instrumental version, and many times would be slightly changed to emphasise the bass (even if the OG song was say a rock song or a ballad). while many did, not all dub mixes had the reggae sound and hence didnt necessarily fit in the "dub" genre.

theres also more hybrid producer cum djs because the fest promoters get caught in the hype machine of new producers who gain their own following, and then book them for bigg fests despite never djing in their lives. then they just get up there and do the celebrity dj thing, play their own songs and a whole lot of popular songs chuck in some anthems, and no beat matching whatsoever.

chevs right though. hip hop/ rnb good beat producers make mint. prob cuz there are so many shyte ones. plus a lot of em can just sample eight beats and loop, or make a very basic pattern on a drum pattern and rap over that. but then you get those that just take it to the next level and even better those that can bring the best out of the lyricist or vocalist. the beat maker in this instance makes a hella difference. so people pay them thousands or millions up front for some beats.

sir mix a lot - i like bigg butts is it for a blacktown partay? then you have to play vibe (R Kelly) and rump shaker (wrecks n effect). in fact you can play them every hour when no one is dancing to get them up. or if you want a change play that "all the chicken heads, be quiet, all the chicken heads make noooise". hip hop hooray (Naughty by Nature) at a peak, and Hey Mr DJ (Zhane) at another. then end with anything by MJ from Off the Wall. i was out in syd a couple weeks back and i swear this formula is still being used. its just the support tracks are all these tracks ive heard parodies/covers on youtube of but didnt actually realise they were parodies of real songs

otay i gets what you mean. i didnt realise that apple and android had surpassed rim in US. anyways im still right about oz though. android phones are selling fastest in the first quarter of the year, it doesnt mean more people are using android. and all analysts know this is because everyone is waiting for the next iphone (same as every year) where then the sales over and surpass everyone. i remember hearing oz is the second biggest intaker of apple iphones/ ipods/ ipads. this may have changed with china now getting the ipad.
