  1. they will feel a bit different. 850's feel more like 1000s - the 350s feel closer to 400's as the platter is smaller (and the whole unit itself is smaller). Also with the 350s, when using usb you can only see 1 track at a time when scrolling through playlists, as opposed to 3 when on the 850s. the 850s are much easier to browse on with usb because of this
  2. It should all work. However I would recommend going straight to mountain Lion. I'm running the latest version of logic (so same version as you) on the latest mountain lion updates with no issues.
  3. depends if you will use the extra features and can afford the extra money

    Welcome
  7. you are playing the same audio files so not going to make much difference if any
  8. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=2098&start=975 Work backwards through that thread. Myself, andyman and russell are the main people who have posted house music in there as of late
  9. Perth hip hop djs -oxykon -duz -wrxfiend
  10. OK after searching for about 4 minutes i found this http://www.ariacharts.com.au/downloads/ ... ce2008.pdf all your questions are answered in that PDF: the main points include: -3 or more weekly residencies encouraged -ARIA member encouraged -Submitting a weekly top 20 chart Approval depends on what djs they need in the panel at the time (they apparently try to balance the djs across different styles to avoid skewing the charts). Saying that, the chart looks like it is primarily electro house djs to me, however there are some house dj's as well by the looks of it. that should answer everything
  11. You don't have to be that big sol. I know a few who are on it who have less than 1k followers / likes. They just have monthly residencies @ clubs. think there is roughly 2-300 DJs in Aus that vote. As for the application process - not sure. May be more details on http://www.aria.com.au Tomy will probably know the most about this (considering he is in the charts atm and probably votes too). Ps: Soldios - heyshep is already an established dj @ candy's in Sydney
  12. What gets played on a saturday at the club currently? also what gets played on the other nights?
  13. What kind of house.. Deep? Tech? Electro? Commercial?
  14. Putting this post up on behalf a friend. I can personally vouch for this gear - no scratches, all excellent condition and only used at home All in perfect working condition. DJM 700 - $750 CDJ 850 (qty 1) - $750 Items are located in Bendigo, Vic however i can arrange to get them to Melbourne if needed
  15. Not recommended as you have to create an aggregate device. It is much less stable and also the sound cards have different latencies so the cue won't match the master out
  16. updated thread title
  17. they won't work for Djing. You need a 2 in / 2 out. also the one built into your midi controller will be a lot better than the one's you linked
  18. Download online and burn to disc?
  19. Quite possibly faulty. I can't find much on the webs if people having this issue and have never heard of it
  20. was there to witness this one
  21. Ableton 9 + the push both available march 5th according to spam mail sent out today. Also if you are looking at purchasing, they are offering a 25% discount on live 8 with a free upgrade to 9 (ends March 4) so it might be something worth looking into
  22. For that price you'd either be able to get a top of the line controller (assuming you already own a capable laptop) OR you could go 2nd hand cdjs and mixer. For the 1200 dollar mark your either looking at the older generation equipment (cdj 400s or 800s + mixer) or the entry level newer gen equip (cdj 350s + mixer). Your choice comes down to budget and preferred feature set (cdj 350s are rekordbox USB compatible) If you are aiming at clubs, cdjs are fairly standard to know how to use and is generally accepted as the better option if you want to go down that path. Controllers are good for mobile work (house parties & functions) as its portable and you can easily maintain / view a large library of music. All comes down to what you want to use it for. Hope this helps
  23. UPDATE: Oxykon - paid in full DrC1 - paid in full Legends. The rest of you hurry up pls
  24. gremmis if its just the jack you can solder a new one on, but my cable was faulty in a number of spots (still didn't work properly after soldering on new jack) i only have the sp model and the cable is like 3m long and uncoiled, so i just decided to buy a new, coiled cable for it with right angled jack, as didn't want to fork out for fully new cans right at this point in time. It's a zomo branded aftermarket cable from juno
