  7. Mate showed me this last night and wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. Not alot of time left though. Taken from: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/musicnews ... o.facebook -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- triple j Unearthed and the Hilltop Hoods are throwing down the gauntlet to all aspiring music producers & MCs and offering a brand new, never before heard track up for remix. The Trials produced track, called 'Now That You're Gone', isn't officially released until the Hoods drop their sixth studio record Drinking From The Sun in March but the 3 piece have decided to release the stems for the tune ahead of schedule. Here's how you enter: - Sign in/sign up to Unearthed - Download the stems - Do your thing - Upload it to Unearthed - Wait for praise Entries are now open but be quick - the comp closes Sunday March 4. The best remixes, as chosen by the Hilltop Hoods and Unearthed, will be played on triple j and triple j Unearthed throughout the competetion with the top 5 tracks announced between 12-18 March. The winning entry will be announced on triple j Breakfast with Tom & Alex on Monday March 19 and will score a triple j Hilltop Hoods merch pack, a meet and greet with the Hoods backstage on their upcoming tour and potentially fame and/or adoration. Find all the downloads and details for the comp at triplejunearthed.com
  8. I haven't seen serato soundcards in other manufacturers mixers? Only traktor. However I do agree they would sell alot more sl2/3/4 units than their own mixers
  9. I know where you both live

    1st gig

I never used a mic when I did mobile gigs, I found having the right cheesy songs was the hardest part. I'm not into the top40 music, and trying to keep up with the charts in music you don't necessarily like is hard, but it's what you have to play sometimes when your doing those kind of gigs

    1st gig

    Edit: double post
  12. No because of patent and copyright infringement. And they can't make a copy because rane would have to push an update tp make it wok with serato software. If it were to happen it would be on rane's terms, not pioneers, as rane has the upper hand if pioneer approach them

  14. Why would rane integrate one of their soundcards into a pioneer product when they sell their own mixers?
  15. I fell asleep before this weeks set came on Listening to last weeks liquid set now in the car though
  16. Your asking for convenience. That would be too practical, for two competing companies to work together on a soundcard. Would be nice, but won't happen
  17. Cool mix hoddi, i liked the tracks in it Only thing i would say is maybe watch your levels on a couple of the transitions, and some of them would have sounded a bit cleaner with a tiny nudge of the jog wheel or some EQing, but besides that it was smooooth. If you want an example, 1st trans there was a noticeable drop in the vol when the outgoing track finished, so maybe gently fading that track out would have made it feel a bit smoother, and a bit of EQ on the bass would have helped a bit. But that all comes with practice, this is real good for only your second mix, i'm impressed. Before you know it youll be mixing tracks in a bit quicker and your mixes will begin to flow even more. Keep up the good work
  18. If your after basic, the built in software with your computer will most likely fill your needs. By these programs i'm meaning: Windows - Windows movie maker Mac - iMovie I used iMovie for all my vid editing for when i did media in high school, gets the job done.
  19. Have played @ local club past 3 weekends in a row now, last night was probably the best night. Also had some guy come up to me and said he knows a bunch of promoters for Melbourne clubs and was going to try hook me up with a couple of gigs there, so he got my number. Will be interesting to see if anything actually comes from that or if he was just talking himself up. Also sticker bombed the DJ booth which was cool Have nek weekend off then back there again the weekend after
