"Device can't be opened" means something else is using the soundcard. In this case, it's serato. You can't select your controller in audacity as serato is using it, so you need to run RCA cable out of your controller into the 3.5mm line in on your computer, and select the built in line input to record with

I use iTunes (guess I'm biased being in the apple ecosystem) I use AIFF instead of FLAC which solves the format problem with iTunes. Also pioneer CD players don't do FLAC, so a bit useless for me. I use VLC for anything outside of iTunes. Regarding your issue with mik not updating the tags in musicbee.. iTunes does this with me as well, until you reload the tags. Have you looked for a refresh/reload id3 tags option in it?

Either will be fine. However I suggest learning by not using any of the info on the screen, as it makes it harder to step up to other equipment, and you don't learn what you're actually doing properly
