So i should be picking my keyboard (might also get my old guitar while i'm back there) up from my parents this weekend. It supports midi, so i intend on using it with logic/ableton when i get enough $$ together to get a faster computer and the software. The intent is to get into EDM production. What I feel I need to do first: -Brush up on my music theory and keyboard skills before i even look at writing tunes I did once upon a time play keyboard and guitar but both many years ago and i've pretty well forgotten alot of it. So what i'm looking for: -Some links to sites/books/etc. that I can use to reteach and improve on my music theory -^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that I can use to reteach and improve on my keyboard skills This is what I feel like I need to do first before i even contemplate delving into production. if you think i'm wrong feel free to steer me in a better direction. Or if you think the advice i'm after is the right advice, if you could help me out that would be awesome too Cheers everyone, love you all

Yep, the exact same as those. 16gb model. They were really quick when I first got them, but now they are real slow. Sometimes 5-10 seconds for the track to fully load up after selecting it. Didn't get time to look into it today but will soon.

1 - Yes, hotcues are only usable on cdj 2000. However you can prepare and store normal cue points, they just aren't hot cues so you need to stop the track to change which cue point you want to set it to 2 - Yes, the main differences between the 850 and 900 are -Slip mode -bigger screen -ethernet link to use computer with rekordbox -more sort options are available on the 900 due to the bigger screen. You can resort playlists by key, bpm etc. on the 900/2000 but not on the 850s. See this thread to explain this better - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8213 EDIT: 900s also have quantised looping, 850s don't

this was around 200 bucks. and it prints directly onto printable cd's. wasn't keen on labels, this is less effort and there is no stickers to come off and wreck the player I'll write a review and upload my templates in a new thread once i get it configured nicely
