Sorry was meaning an Ethernet switch. Regardless wifi should be a to handle that. I stream HD content across mine all the time.

Wouldn't you just use a router for that?
  3. Starting to think I didn't search this through well enough... Oh well.

You can change that, but maybe it requires registration? My internet is shaped right now. I couldn't even open speedtest.com to run the test.
  5. I'm bored.... http://www.graffiticreator.net/ ^^^ Actually found that when doing a google search for Kodiak

No... But I have heard it is considerably better. We have some areas here that have it, some with ADSL and some with nothing because the current government stopped the roll out.
  7. Formally known as DrC1.... A change of name, something I have been thinking about for some time and was going to post up a thread looking for some advice when the other day this name came to me. Firstly why the change? Well DrC1 is a shit name, it doesn't make any sense, it's hard to say (Doctor C1 or D-R-C-1) and really it was just a name to use when I first created my Soundcloud account. DrC1 came about because the only real name I could have used was the nickname my old QLD inline hockey team gave me, "The Bear." I got this name as I was a very big (6" & 100kg) guy that was even bigger once goalie pads and skates were on. The name fit and I am still called this by those guys nearly 20 years later and i used it for most other online personas. But due to being forced to watch "Sex in the City" by my now ex-wife (reason enough to divorce her in itself) I am aware that within the GLBT community, which is common in clubbing scenes, is that a "Bear" is a large gay, usually hairy man. Not really something I wanted to set myself up for as an identity as a DJ/Producer. So I used my initials because I couldn't think of anything else at the time. Here is where "Kodiak" ties in..... Kodiak is the largest of the brown bear species. It's easy to say and recognise and whilst not a unique word per say, it is not commonly used other than to describe the animal and the islands of Alaska where the bear is found. There is a DJ Kodiak Kid on Soundcloud but I figured I would still go with it. Up until recently a name change hadn't really bothered me. I don't play out and have no real intentions of doing so. But the local club recently ran some DJ comps and I thought if I did ever want to have a go I would need a better name. Plus come tax refund time I will be setting myself up to start doing some producing. Plus it got to me a little at the Gold Coast meet when everyone called each other Cupe, Dflux, Beatless, Oxykon (or Defkon depending how long you been around) etc and I was plain old Darryl....
  8. Use a decent email service like Gmail.
  9. I think you will find most people rate Pioneer DJ equipment highly.... Well all except their headphones. But, this is also something that is very much a personal choice. What you like the sound of and find comfortable may not be the same as everyone else.
  10. Yeah... For production the full 88 is definitely not required. But I am hoping this will spend just as much, if not more time as a regular piano once I can get some lessons for my daughter.
  11. I'm also on the look out for similar reasons. I want to get into production and I would like the keyboard to introduce my daughter to learning and playing music. Weighing up if I want to go with a 61 keyboard like Gandy's Novation or go the full 88 on a straight midi keyboard like the Alesis without any production tools such as the pads. The pads etc would be useful but not essential (all can be done in software). Not sure which way I will go yet.
  12. On top of the douche factor of a DJ wearing beats.... Fuck they are heavy and uncomfortable!
  13. Pretty much did this. Found one song that led to a label and then what people had bought and around I went. Number 1 on Beatport right now is Bounce Generation by TJR... Betting we will start seeing more from the internationals now.
  14. I know they will be buried somewhere in Beatport Electro House section. But is there any really good places I can trawl through some Melbourne tunes as I realise I have none other than the overly popular Will Sparks stuff.
  15. Dat Juicy Wiggle (20:00).... Sah sexy!!!
  16. From my research a while ago the KRK's are popular with DJ's because they are bass heavy (in comparison) and are not ideal for production. But saying that they have still got to be much better than regular stereo speakers and about a billion tines better than Logitechs.... Although I have not actually heard or compared them, just going off my research I did a when back.
  17. Dark photo is dark.
  18. Most people also do not insert earplugs far enough into the ear. The normal disposable ones (little foam cylinders) should be inserted ALL the way into your ear. If there are any bits that protrude out and you can see them when you are looking at someone straight on, they are not in far enough.
  19. I wear ear plugs the entire time I'm at work. Not sure of the levels in the vehicle but it is LOUD! The two way radios we use have an output in excess of 100dB and the hand piece is clipped to my collar. Sometimes I have to hold it to my ear to hear what is being said... My earplugs must be very efficient. I have annual hearing tests and my hearing has remained the same in the 7 years I've been here.
  20. hey
  21. I don't even have a use for this yet and I will still download it.
  22. Yea I'm taking it. Apparently he got it from ebay, so he has the ebay receipt... :S I hope it was genuine so I can take it back to NI if anything happens in the remaining 6 months. All I now need is the other part, the Z1 Probably wouldn't get a local warranty anyway (unless bought from local genuine eBayer - not grey importer).
